http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/01/01/bernie.ask.bernie.20090101/index.html Anyone catch this on the NBA front page? You can e-mail the Vice President of Referee Operations and Director of Officials with your questions. I think the refs need a healthy dose of ClutchFans asking why they don’t make consistent calls, especially with guys hammering Yao in the paint...which happens every game.
i sent in this : On final plays, why don't referees take into account the delay of time from when the ball handler touches the ball, to when the timekeeper actually starts the clock? If the timekeeper doesn't start the clock as soon as the player touches the ball on the in-bounds play, players have the ability to get off clean game winning shots that they would not have gotten off in time if the timekeeper started the clock earlier. In response to Roy's game winner against the Rockets.
I seriously doubt anybody who actually matters will ever read those emails. They probably just have some intern comb through all of them, and pick out one or two they can use as a publicity stunt to show that they "care about the fans." Right now, David Stern is sitting pretty. Scoring is up across the board, you got Kobe and LeBron one-upping each other in front of millions at MSG, you've got the Celtics and their Big Three tearing up the league, and you've got all the drama as to who is gonna make the playoffs in the West. Do you really think he wants to change anything about the way the NBA is being run right now? No way.
Roy's game winner was legitimate. That's from the exact point he first touched the ball to the exact moment of release, not just from when the clock started. Did you miss the huge thread with frame by frame analysis?
i would sent them about unfair calls on yao and also two hand on the back of yao its a foul, pls call that.
