When: Tuesday, July 22, 6:30 PM Where: RFK Stadium, Washington D.C. Television: Channel 55 (English), Channel 43 (Spanish) Radio: 790 AM (English), 850 AM (Spanish) The Dynamo head to DC to play the game that was originally scheduled for June 4, but was rained out after 19 minutes of play. Interestingly, the Dynamo played a depleted United four days ago at RFK in SuperLiga play, winning 3-1 (I should have made a thread for that game, but we all forget sometimes). Should be an interesting game. Dr. Ludicrous; do you know if Nate Jacqua will be suiting up for this one or do we have to wait a little while longer? Of course, it was announced that the Dynamo will be playing Pachuca at Robertson Stadium July 29 in the SuperLiga semifinals. This is one of our few legitimate, impassioned rivalries. Thinking of Ngwenya's PK in the shootout last year still pains me. Of course, this will be addressed in due time. On to DC!
When Jaqua's deal was announced they said this could be his first game but I haven't read anything saying if he'll be available tonight or not. Ching and Robinson returned last game and should be available and Stuie and Ianni haven't left for the Olympic camp yet so they are available. Rico is out due to yellow card accumulation and I think Mulrooney is still injured. I'm not sure what we'll do at defensive mid, Dom may move one of our central defenders up since all three are available, or he may have Cameron play there. DC will be tougher than they were on Saturday but this is still a winnable game.
The game has been postponed until tomorrow due to power outages. http://www.behindthebadge.com/2008/07/dcu-vs-houston-postponed-again.php
What's up with RFK? They had a power outage last saturday during a match. They can't play in Landover?
Final Score Dynamo 2 DC United 0 Ridiculous situation, but at least they finally got the game finished! I agree with Kam that the general playing situation at RFK is ridiculous, especially for one of MLS' premier teams. United have apparently been working with DC for years trying to get a stadium to no avail. The mayor has been reluctant to offer any financial help, but United was slapped in the face recently when the DC mayor began to court the Redskins away from Landover to come back to DC with a new stadium in the future. Alright, it's time to turn our attention to Pachuca! I'm going to try my hardest to make it out to the game next week, but the 9:00 PM start time really is a cog in the schedule.
