I'm with on on everything to do with Kemp. All-Star caliber, but that was it. But Amare "before the injury" already on his way to best ever???? That's insane and ridiculously early to make a statement like that. You probably could've said the same thing after Kemp's 2nd or 3rd year or whenever he showed improvement. Amare was never on his way to anything definite except being a really good player. You can assume progress to a certain point... but to assume someone will pass the all-time greats requires more than just realization of physical potential..
HAHA, Dwight doesn't have half the offense talent and intelligence that Hakeem had. Please, don't even compare Dwight, at least not a this stage of Dwight's career.
I agree with some your of points about Kemp, but the comments about Amare are way off base. Amare is a great athlete, but to say he was on his way to become the greatest at that position is totally insane. If you go back and watch Spurs and Suns series, you will see that Amare scored most of his points from pick and rolls. He never went 1v1 with Duncan, nor did he ever post up Duncan up. If anything, I think Amare is one of the most hyped up player of all time. We will see how great he is a few years when there is no Nash around dishing him perfect passes. For a player to score mostly on pick and rolls, and from their pg finding them slashing to the lane, its hard to say they are great. I think Amare is very similar to KMart, but a little bigger and better.
KB24>MJ23 There you go I said it!!!! By the time its all said and done, Kobe Bryant will be the best guard to have played the game. He will be in the top five or ten in every statistical category. Then West Coast Rap between 84-97 > All rap music today! Now time to go bump some Dogg Pound or Dj Quik.
Go back to the ESPN boards where you belong with the rest of the mentally challenged cockflounders who have nothing better to do than start threads based on logical fallacies and ridiculous claims.
Karl Malone scored a lot of his points off PnR in his career. Without Stockton he probably wouldn't have had such an amazing career either. so what's your point? what if Amare had Nash or someone close to Nash's caliber for his entire career? if not for the injury, it's definitely not that far-fetched to say he'll probably be one of greatest at his position production wise.
someone says that every time I use that officially NIMF-sanctioned phrase. But I cannot take the credit, for it goes to BBS poster "Truth" aka The.Brand0n, mr superb B herb. Or Bear Hands as we called him. kudos to that gentleman.
My cousin (who is 16) said "Kevin Garnett is way better than Olajuwon ever was, Hakeem doesnt impress me." i almost **** myself when he said that.
It wasnt his ONLY source of points. Malone had a great post game up compliment the PnR. When was the last time you saw Amare post someone up? When was the last time you saw the Suns dump the ball in to Amare and let him do his thing? A lot of Amare success has to do with Nash and their team. THATS MY POINT.
Apparently you are making an argument about how Jordan has 6 rings without the aid of an all-world center because nothing else can explain this ridiculous statement. Actually, you're right. Nevermind. Kobe Bryant wearing number 24 hasn't won anything yet while Kobe Bryant wearing number 8 has.. my mistake. As for Howard being and equivalent of Hakeem, maybe. I have no problems with young players being compared to Hakeem because that means Hakeem is finally getting his due, BUT the kid doesn't have the polish Hakeem has on offense. Maybe in a few years, but right now, he still has a lot to learn.
As for Amare, he was on a serious roll before his injury. He had pulled his game out to about 16-18 ft which is pretty good. But then the injury hit and now I still haven't seen the same Stoudamire that dominated the season before his injury/surgery.
