I was looking at some Durant highlights, and I swear if Durant had a wandering eye I'd have sworn it was TMac... they are similar length/height/build, and their game is similar too... Durant has a great pull up J out to three point range, can post up or face the basket and attack, and their style on the court is similar.

Is he a 2nd coming of TMac?

A mix of T-Mac and KG, pretty sick.

I think he will be better than Tmac......at the end of his career barring injuries.

He plays better defense and rebounds the ball too.......

Kevin Durant, IMO is the best player in this draft...by a long way.

Better defense eh? If there is one thing I haven't seen Durant do is play great defense. Not because he doesn't, I just haven't watched him enough. You hear so much about his offensive skills. We will see though.

Fair point, I guess neither he nor Tmac is known for consistent defense.....

Uh, what? Believe me, I've seen A LOT of Durant gamewise and I don't remember defense being in his arsenal. He gets good boards and the occasional weak side block, but a defender he is not.

That said, I think he'll be better than Tracy when all is said and done.

    I have just one question.......

I've been thinking about ending all of my posts with a JB like so. Does it add to the post or just to make absolutely sure people know who just posted?

He's ten times better than Tracy was at 19. It's all about how much he works on his game and improves.

ya i think the length and sweet jumpers are definitely a parallel. But durant has way more fire in him than tmac does.

Scary idea, to think of the potential this guy has later in his career... IF he gets stronger, IF he can improve...

Durant is a good athelete, but a good tier below the freakish atheleticism of Tmac. Plus he doesn't have Tmac's passing ability.

Yep Durant seems to be a Tracy clone, but with more heart, and aggression.

If Durant has a work ethic, he may be better than Lebron James.

haha i finally agree w/ u. i dont think he'll ever be as explosive as tmac b/c tmac when young COULD FLY.

but he does have more work ethic than tmac and he has no back problems. that's the key.

a back-free problem tmac = EASILY the best player even w/ a decent work ethic. but he does have back problems.

i love durant and hopes he keeps working and w/ no injuries. he has a bright future. but he needs to put on more weight. he aint gonna dominate w/ that frame.

I think he's more of a Carmelo Anthony: a really good scorer who can rebound a bit at his position but won't ever be confused with a defensive stopper.

His body is similar to T-Mac's, yes, but I think his game is closer to Melo's...

Yes, but that doesn't mean much really. I think he's going to be great, but he's not NEARLY the passer T-Mac is and I don't think he'll ever be as good of an all-around player. I think McGrady has an off-the-charts basketball IQ, there's nothing he can't do skill-wise. I would say Durant can be a much better scorer earlier on in his career, may be a slightly better rebounder, but definitely a worse defender and not nearly the passer McGrady is.

This board seriously underrates Tracy McGrady; may be we need to step back and look at things more objectively for a change...

nah man, melo is STRONG dude. dude can destroy any perimeter defender in the post if there was no double teams. i dont think durant will ever have that strong of a post up game.

realistically, i think he's a better version of rashard lewis. if lewis knew how to dribble, he'd be close to a superstar. so i think that is a better comoparison.

until he gets past the first round, its hard to look at him objectively :D . he really is one of the most talented players to ever step on the basketball court skillwise.

he'll be better than t-mac barring injuries. he's already a better scorer than t-mac, but he hasnt been tested on his passing and defense. t-mac didn't develop his passing until after a few years in the league so give him time. durant will be better than t-mac though.
