I've always been interested in the "dunks" stat, and in watching the first 7 games this seasons it seemed to me that Yao's been getting more dunks than usual, so I looked it up and here it is... http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/dunk-o-meter/yearly I would have thought he was getting at least two a game, but maybe it's because I tend to rewind my DVR whenever he dunks so I'm seeing more dunks than there actually are. Meanwhile... Dwight Howard is getting a Shaq like 4 dunks a game. Beast!
Pretty r****ded ranking list if you ask me. There are tons of players tied with same number of dunks yet the ranking goes on as if it's determined by some tie-breaker*. Not a surprise since this is the same site hosting moronic sports writers such as Tony Meija. *EDIT: the tie-breaker turns out to be players' last names in alphabetical order ... LOL ... stupid sportsline
Ties are ranked alphabetically by the players last name. Chill it's just a list. * Ahh you just caught yourself
So corny but so good. Only Bill can pull that one off. Sooner or later, Clyde will follow it up with "Yes, Facey ala Tracy"
I watched him against the Suns, and he dominated Amare big time. But I did notice that if it's not a dunk, Dwight's touch still needs a lot of work. With this dunk stat, I did some quick calculations, and his non-dunk fg percentage is 36.1%. His post moves are quick and decisive, with good footwork, but he struggles to finish. If he ever masters that, scary. For those wondering, Yao's non-dunk fg percentage is 50.5%. His high number of layups obviously helps that stat.
If Yao would only dunk every time he was in point blank range. Remember that blooper when he botched the easy slam? He will get better as the season goes on because for the first time in his career, he is getting easy looks at the best and only matter of time he figures out a layup is nice but a dunk is nasty!
Okay, I counted 3 Yao dunks and 2 for Tmac just in the Bobcats game highlights. Who's doing the counts on this thing?
i tried asking someone to post a thread on this, cause I can't, and someone finally did... but someone that's counting those should realize that t-mac has 7 dunks this year, not 6.... 2 against the lakers, 2 against the jazz, 1 against the bucks (which i think is the one that they are missing), and 2 against the bobcats
if you look at the daily dunks, you can see that it says Yao had 3 and T-mac had 2...you better check it out before they change it to tonight's dunks
Why would you want to rank ties? LOL It's a r****ded ranking no matter how you spin it. Professionalism is not too much to ask for from a major sport site -- even if it's a just stats table -- is it?
