Anyone wanting to see this movie? As some of you may know, I review movies. However, I'm going to be honest and say that I really, really don't want to see this movie. Unfortunately, it's the one movie that many of the game players on our site will really want to see, so we need to have a review for it. "It will most certainly place near the top of my list of best movies of 2000, but I'm pretty sure that I never want to see it again for the pounding that my emotions took." so true! so true! My wife is one of those kinds of people that love to see a movie a second and third time if she likes it. And she wanted to go see this one again last weekend. I happen to love the fantasy genre. Not science fiction, but fantasy: wizards, dragons, knights in shining armor, that kind of stuff. I never got into D&D or any other role playing games, but I do love to read. Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, David Eddings, and J. R. R. Tolkien are among my favorite authors. However, I've always hated how Hollywood treated fantasy. Movies like DragonHeart were an insult, IMHO. I will go see Dungeons and Dragons, but it will probably piss me off. wow, thanks for asking but i haven't written anything since HS journalism class. i agree it's a difficult movie to review since most of it is dialogue-based and not action. i am glad you enjoyed it however. it's probably my favorite movie of the year.

One review of the theatrical trailer said that "the gayest thing I'd ever seen before today was two men kissing in a public park. That was, UNTIL I saw the D&D trailer..."

Freak if you haven't read the Tolkien trilogy, I highly recommend it. Some of the most wonderful escapism I've ever read. Of course, I read them in college when I was um, "experimenting" with hallucinogens, so that might have had a bearing on my perspective. And no one is here to flame you!
