Anyone wanting to see this movie? As some of you may know, I review movies. However, I'm going to be honest and say that I really, really don't want to see this movie. Unfortunately, it's the one movie that many of the game players on our site will really want to see, so we need to have a review for it.

So, if any of you want to write a review, e-mail it to me at blake@corp.swirve.com . We don't like real serious reviews, more like conversation type writing. Just a little synopsis of the movie and your thoughts. As for the length, look at some of mine, and you'll get the idea. Plus, you'll be published on the 36th biggest website in the world (according to last week's rankings anyway!).

    Thanks.

"It will most certainly place near the top of my list of best movies of 2000, but I'm pretty sure that I never want to see it again for the pounding that my emotions took."

    so true! so true!

My wife is one of those kinds of people that love to see a movie a second and third time if she likes it.

And she wanted to go see this one again last weekend.

I was like, "sweetheart, your starting to scare me".

I happen to love the fantasy genre. Not science fiction, but fantasy: wizards, dragons, knights in shining armor, that kind of stuff. I never got into D&D or any other role playing games, but I do love to read. Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, David Eddings, and J. R. R. Tolkien are among my favorite authors. However, I've always hated how Hollywood treated fantasy. Movies like DragonHeart were an insult, IMHO. I will go see Dungeons and Dragons, but it will probably piss me off. I hope Lord of the Rings will do some justice.

I understand that they are shooting the entire trilogy of Lord of the Rings at one time!

I can't wait for this movie! It has been one of my favorite stories of all time!

outlaw, I did see it, loved it. I've had a hard time reviewing it however. It should be up by tomorrow.

Would you be interested in writing a review from your perspective?

Unfortunately I've seen this. Only in New York. Go ahead and "flame" me. You don't know what it's like to be straight.

    LOL River.

I love The Hobbit, maybe I should check out the rest of it.

wow, thanks for asking but i haven't written anything since HS journalism class. i agree it's a difficult movie to review since most of it is dialogue-based and not action. i am glad you enjoyed it however. it's probably my favorite movie of the year.

RM95: I've been meaning to tell you that I LOVE your reviews. I think we have similar taste in film even if I don't have quite the love of the big screen as you obviously do. Keep up the good work. I'm always looking to see what you've reviewed lately!

One review of the theatrical trailer said that "the gayest thing I'd ever seen before today was two men kissing in a public park. That was, UNTIL I saw the D&D trailer..."

That "reviewer" must live a very sheltered life. [IMG]

    Rocketman,

What did you think of Requiem? Did you get a chance to see it? Did it change your life?

Freak if you haven't read the Tolkien trilogy, I highly recommend it. Some of the most wonderful escapism I've ever read.

Of course, I read them in college when I was um, "experimenting" with hallucinogens, so that might have had a bearing on my perspective. [IMG]

And no one is here to flame you! It's all good my rocket brother.

    Rocketman,

A very good friend of mine in Houston also writes reviews for films. Although he mainly sticks to the B movie genre. Don't know if your interested in that, but I thought I'd pass along his site sos you could take a look if you'd like. He's very funny and insightful!
