Anyone played this yet. I just got a new computer and now I need a new game to go with it. Is DS any good? Any other new games out that people have played that they could suggest(no FPS games though).

I am playing it and having fun, the story is a little lame, but the game is gorgeous and the interface is quite intuitive.

Give me a little info on this one Vengance. Other than it being a SW game what do you do? What is the background story etc. It sounds promising.

Thanks I will probably pick it up this afternoon.

Jedi Knight II is a very fun game with some problems. It starts out very slow and sterotypical for a FPS. Once you get the lightsaber the game picks up but there are still some flaws. My biggest gripe about the game is that there are snipers that can have incredible accuracy and can shoot from clear accross the map. It almost makes dying in slow motion a necessity just so you can try to trace the laser beam back to reload. It is quite irritating sometimes...

Still a fun game though with lots of nice atmosphere.

OOPs it is a FP game. I won;t be able to enjoy it then. For some wierd reason when I play a FPS I get nauseous. I think it has something to do with motion sickness, the scrollin gof the screen and frame rates. Anyway. whenever I play one I seem to get a headache and/or sick to my stomach.

Yeah, i guess that could be a problem. Too bad :(

I agree it started a little slowly, and those snipers are bastards. What I usually do is just kill all of them in an area, THEN focus on everything else. I had the same problem with MOHAA. There were snipers in belltowers that you couldn't see, but they could kill you in 2 shots.

i haven't tried it yet, but Heroes of Might and Magic IV looks promising. I think HOMMII is the best game I've ever played.

Other good games to play (non-fps) are:

    Diablo/Diablo II
    Starcraft
Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II
    Planescape: Torment
    Grim Fandango
    Conquest: Frontier Wars
High Heat Baseball 2001 (the best of the series IMO)

FP=First Person. And yes Half Life would qualify.

Jedi Knight II has a major flaw, that's more evident than it used to be. You move around to fast and there's simply no sense of realism whatsoever.

This is basically tippified when you play MP online. It had potential to be wonderfuly exciting, what with using Jedi Mind tricks to sneak up on others, or force pulls/pushes to knock people off cliffs. It turns out, however, that there's absolutely no skill whatsoever to lightsaber duels online, and there's always such a caccaphony of people thrown into a jumble that you basically run at others, push buttons, and hope something happens.

Construction-wise, the game seems like something from before MOHAA, Quake III or even Half-Life simply updated with modern graphics. I was disapointed.
