Why does the NBA announce that Rob Dillingham has been draft by the Spurs when they know there was a trade with the Timberwolves? The poor kid is all excited and playing with Victor and now he needs snow attire.

The NFL easily announces there has been a trade and announces the proper team making the selection, then the hosts divulge the details of the trade.

There must be some contractual reason, but I can't imagine why this is good or necessary for anyone.
