Except for the cuthshort 99 season, Duncan did what??

He was unable to lead the Spurs to a championship untill:

    1. They got him athletic guys who can run/defend/shoot in creative and unpredictable manner.

    2. Lakers lost heart.

    3. Injuries to just about everyone else.

Most dependable, most consistent, most fundamentally sound? DUH. Best player in the league?....Imma say No O-o Dont get me wrong, I love the dood tho  Love wathching him play especially aganist other good forwards.

one can't win by oneself. one needs to be surrounded by other good players.

This has to be stupidest thread ever, and that's pretty bad because there have been quite a few bad ones. I am not a Spur fan but with the exception of KG, and Shaq there is no one I would rather have on my team than TD.

dback816 you could say the same about Kazaam the year after the Spurs won after the short season. There is no team the win a championship with one player, Micheal couldnt do it until scotty was around so your reasoning is flawed and ridiculous.

I always thought O-o looked like Mr. Spock's eyebrow raised in a questioning manner. But I'm a nerd, so I think like that.

Although I do agree that this thread is dumb... Hakeem Olajuwon, in his prime, would wipe the floor with Tim Duncan. So I wouldnt compare the two. But don't get me wrong, Duncan is really good.
