On I think 60 Minutes recently, they mentioned that Dubai was the #1 tourist destination for young people living in the Middle East. Its not NYC or London anymore.

    You live in Dubai right?

I wanted to settle a bet with someone. I told him the correct way to pronounce Dubai is "Dub-ay," as in "the ay prounced like the ay in Wayne" but my friend said it was the way Westerners say it "Dub-ai" as in "ay caramba."

    Who is correct?

Amongst us middle easterners it basically considered the Vegas, or NY of the mid east...basically a place for everyone to come and party and everything is basically allowed.

Dubai is how New Jersey would look if it could start over, gaudy and tasteless..

It is beautiful but the government and corporations building these architectural wonders are doing so at the expense of poor people. Really sad.

The magority of the great cities of the world share this trait. Nothing new.

I wouldn't mind visiting Dubai. There some solid DJ's that spin there frequently.
