    I am a Verizon DSL customer and I am currently using THIS wireless router. I think the modem supplied by Verizon is the Westell 6100g.

    Here’s The Issue:
    The DSL connection, all too frequently, either stalls or totally drops out. Usually, I’ll have to turn the modem and wireless router off and back on to get the connection back up and going.

    Question(s):
    Will bridging the modem make the connection more stable? Unfortunately I’m at work and don’t have access to the specifics of my current configuration; but in theory, should this work? I do know that the modem is not currently bridged, and I’ve been doing some research on bridging and it appears to be a possible solution.

    Note:
    Verizon FIOS and ATT Uverse are not available in my area. Additionally, Comcast is not an option… Because it’s just not.

    Thanks in advance for any insight…

    I think you might be over-thinking the issue. I would have them come out and check/replace your line to the pole and make sure your lines inside are nice and clean. It also may simply be an issue of a bad modem.

    Either way, having a tech out will help immensely.
