Chicago - The new dumping grounds for 3rd string Rockets PGs [IMG]

Also, I think it would be awesome if they dumped a ton of money to pick up Joe Smith, but still couldn't land Rice. Talk about a productive use of cap space. [IMG]

What could Chicago give us that we could possibly want? I doubt they would give up a lottery pick.

Any deal that gets us a 1st round pick would be great b/c I see the Bulls as a Lottery team next year and maybe even the year after. And we ALL know how deep the 2001 Draft is and how bad the 2001 FA market is.

Hersey Hawkins' and a 2001 1st rounder for Drew and 'Los works capwise (and Hersey's contract ends 2001). Don't believe the Bulls would give us the pick though.

Here's a chance for the Fizer fans to start salivating b/c it works capwise. Maybe the Bulls are thinking Drew and the better of the Rocks or Bucks (unprotected) 2001 pick for Fizer. Then they can sign Rice to play the 3.

Drew for Artest works capwise and they can still have Rice and Fizer at SF.

Starting Bulls lineup - Drew, Ron Mercer, Glen Rice, Elton Brand, Brad Miller. Crawford and/or Fizer off the bench. Not too bad actually...

Jerry Krauss: "You guys still have any Scottie Brookses left?"
    Carrol Dawson: "Nah, fresh out."
    Krauss: "Any Maloneys?"
CD: "You bought the last one, sorry."
Krauss: "How about a Brent Price?"
CD: "Maybe, lemme check the back. . ."
Krauss: "Ok, I'll wait" (muches cheetoes)
CD: "Sorry, can't find any. How about a Carlos Rogers?"
Krauss: "Nah, nah. Hey, what about a Bryce Drew."
    CD: "Great! He's on sale!"
Krauss: "Perfect. How much you want for him."
CD: "Don't worry about it, my treat."
    Krauss: "Wow, really!"
CD: "Sure. Take it. These things grow on trees down here."
    Krauss: "Thanks!"
    CD: "Sure. Bye Jerry."
Krauss: "You're the best, Mr. Dawson. Thanks! Wait till I tell Elgin! Bye. And thanks again!"

I like Drew as well as Rogers, but as everyone knows, they are lost in the shuffle here. We want youth and these 2 guys can help us get more youth and more quality. Even if we have to just accept a draft pick, I'd take it but if that story is true, there will be more involved than just a draft pick from Chicago. The Bulls would be adding salary instead of dropping it and if they are really serious about adding Rice and possibly Smith, they might not have enough for both of them if we didn't take any salary in return. I heard, don't remember when or where that Chicago may just release Hawkins outright. He will be a free agent next year and we would be able to dump that salary or we could just trade him right after we get him and trade him to another team for a player we would want or a draft pick. Whatever happens, Rockets either want draft picks, player who's contract ends after this season, or a quality young player. And if we can get any of those for Drew and Rogers, we have to take it.
