Alright, a short recap... Berman talked to Dream about the Hall of Fame, which he should be eligible for in little over a year from now. Dream said that there is no such thing as a 'definite' first ballor HOF, but said he would be honored and would consider it an affirmation of a successful career. Regarding the topic of the Rockets wanting to honor him with a statue or something else, he said that he and the Rockets have been in discussions over an the 'details', but said that both parties agree that something will be done (At least it's good to hear the Rockets and Dream are in agreement on that).
They made it sound like it will happen when he is inducted into the Hall. They also talked briefly about his big man camp.
I saw a a clip of Hakeem's MVP series in 95' on David Robinson the other day and all he needs is the ball and a little space and he just goes postal...for artistry, creativity and technical merit, all 10's from me.
I had a weird dream last night that the DREAM was hired as the head coach of the Rockets and get this at the press conference the assistant coaches were Mario Elie, Kenny Smith, Otis Thrope, and Scotty Brooks. Oh, well one can only dream.
With the war going on in neighboring countries, Id be getting my happy ass back to the States as well. Dude can study his religion here. Never understood the attraction to moving to Jordan other than more muslims.... I never understood why its been so long that we havent honored Hakeem with a statue or painting, mural, something..... It seems like he just bailed and we moved on.
lol. That's good stuff. The difference between you and tinman is that this is your dream, and that's his realistic plan for next season.
Dream has said he would love to tutor Yao, but Yao is never here in the off-season, when Dream is here.
A dream for Rockets fans everywhere. Sort of passing the torch, along with some skills. It'd be great, and Yao would really benefit.
I think it was 2 years ago. Around the time when Okafor worked out with him and or when he talked to Duncan before the finals.
Completely different cultures... its hard to really experience Islam fully in a heavily Catholic/Christian society. Great to hear that Hakeem is still in contact with the Rockets, and that everything he brought to the franchise is going to be celebrated eventually. I'm with everyone else, in that I hope he plays some larger role in the Rockets organization some day.
