I was wondering why hasent Rudy ever tried the Cato/ Dream frontcourt. Having Cato at the 4 would give us a shotblocker, a good rebounder and an off the ball offensive presence. I don't think it would be hard for Cato to adjust to that postion either. Im not saying that he should start there or anything, but I figured 2 6'11+ guys in the front court would not be such a bad idea, considering we are second to last in block shots as a team and very low on the rebounding. Franchise leads us by gods sake, well not any more but he did. Anywaz I am a new poster to the board, but have been coming here for a while. Tell me what you guys think. Later, Tim ------------------
I really think this would work, just think about it. Im not sure about Willis, dream, barkley. Barkley at the 3 would hurt us with the others teams 3 schooling barkley off the dribble. But hey I love BArkley im a bigger fan then a lot of you of him. He worked his ass off every game day, maybe not practice though hehehe ------------------
Welcome to the board xcamm1. I agree with what you are saying. Rockets did one time try that against the spurs and it worked well when Hakeem defended Duncan. Hakeem stopped him but Robinson went off on Cato. I dont know, Cato doesnt seem like he can hold Power Forwards for some reason he has troubles. But I would like to see how it works in the future. Hakeem and Cato can cause alot of problems now. Back then hakeem was always hurt and cato wasnt ready. Now hakeem is doing great and Cato is back. I would like to see rudy try it a couple times a night to see how it works. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Well a year ago it would have worked well but now with Cato out of shape having to play his way back into shape I don't see them trying it unless its San Antonio. I think Cato has gotten bigger(workingout wise). He's not as quick now that he's added weight, meaning he can't cover versatile PF's. ------------------
A frontcourt of MoTay, Cato and Hakeem would work against San Antonio....Spurs play malik Rose at the three when he's heathy, so Mo can matchup easily against him...Mo's dribbling is excellent for a big man.... Hakeem vs. Duncan Cato vs. Robinson Mo vs. Rose who else thinks it would work? ------------------
I think Dream and Cato would be really good on the defensive end but I don't think it would be all that great on the offensive end. It might be worth a look though. ------------------
I think Rudy mentioned once that Dream and Cato is not good together because they have the same instinct, that is, to block every shot leaving their man behind for an easy assist. ------------------
