I gave up that dog (named him Galactus) last night for another party member. Hopefully I'm not making a mistake because that mutt was badass.
Just beat the game with my Human Warrior. I'm going to start another game, but I'm having trouble choosing the race. I'll most likely go for being a Rogue. I chose dual weapon combat as a Warrior, so combat will probably be similar with the rogue since its main melee is dual weapon. What race would you guys recommend?
Just stat wise dwarfs make good rogues. I'm not sure about the duel wielding aspect though. I am very early in the game. I just got a point to spend on specialization class, but I haven't unlocked any of them yet. I hope I didn't miss something.
For those that still care, I think if you have an option, go for the PC version. Interface, to me, would just make more sense. Quickbar slot items/abilities being one main reason. Is the console version pausable to move and strategize your encounters? If not, definitely PC. I thikn I also read that the console version you are locked into an over the shoulder 3rd person view. On PC you can back out the camera into a overhead view to better strategize and position your party members. Is there the same level of AI customization on the console versions as the PC? I mean you can customize your party members on when you pot for health, mana, heal, attack, use skills, etc.
One question for those that have completed the main quest. Can you keep playing afterwards? I don't want to miss out on any side quests!
The answer to that is yes and no. Spoiler I'm not sure if you can always survive the ending, but in my first playthrough, my character made it through alright. So my answer is supposing that your character survives. You can continue playing, but you cannot go back and do anything related to the main quest. It takes you back to the group camp and tells you that you can still play through any DLC and that all the DLC takes place chronologically before the final battle in the main quest. You can leave the main camp, but since you can't do anything related to the main quest anymore, you can't go anywhere but the DLC locations. So if you've got any more side quests, finish them before the landsmeet.
I forgot to mention, I love the little finsihing moves that occurs if you have the killing blow on an enemy. When I first started playing the ones on "normal" sized characters was pretty cool, but when I fought the first large troll/ogre or whatever... Oh man, it was awesome, b/c my party all died and I was left alone to try and finish him off. I am a warrior and like to use a 2h sword, and my dude just jumped up in slow-mo cinematic fashion, jammed my sword into the ogre's chest, while the ogre fell back, my character was on top of him and thrusted the sword into his face. That was sweetness. "In tha face!" - Eddie Murphy in Coming to America
Its more like KOTOR in that you have more abilities to choose from that arent spells. Also you can switch viewpoints from an isometric BG type to a 3rd person KOTOR type. Only negative is you cant queue up several commands at once. You can sorta thru tactics, but I find anything beyond telling your archer to stay ranged, or making all the options for your mage say "attack" to preserve spell points is asking too much. Some nice tidbits: Unlocking a specialization is tied to your user account, so for all characters you create after that its available. Also, if you save and unlock a specialization, then go back to the save game(before you unlocked) it will still be unlocked.
My girlfriend bought this for me yesterday (to make up for punching me in the face) and I just completed the noble origin and I'm already hooked This game is t***.
I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to pull off threesomes and foursomes in the game yet. Just like in real life, my cunning/pursuade score isn't very high... Otherwise, this is a good game. Although like BucMan55 said, you can't queue up multiple commands at once like you could in KOTOR.
Never met an Isabela, that I can recall. I haven't been able rto get anyone other than prostitutes to have sex, but I haven't really tried that much either.
Isabella is the chick at The Pearl that kicks ass. If you have a high enough cunning and persuasion skill she'll teach you Duelist specialization for Rager. You can also hook up with her. If you go for the suprise me option at the Pearl they bring out two Nugs. Jajajaja!!!!
Okay picked this up today, been looking forward to it but had to wait until payday. If you have not gotten this and are interested in digital download. The ES store has the CE version for like $46 right now.
