I finished both Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, and while both of them are all-time classic greats, I would have to say that Neverwinter Nights was the better game. As soon as I finished it, I was sad, and began trying out downloadable modules and such, which were not anywhere as good, but you know a game is good when you just don't want to stop playing it, even when you have finished it. And I have heard that DA:O is exactly like that. And I have always made it a rule, if I can get a game one console of PC, to always go for the PC version. That's not to say that the console Bioware games are not great, I loved Jade Empire, but have never really been able to get into Mass Effect of KotOR.. although I do intend to give a serious run at Mass Effect once the holidays come around and I have some free time... but if all my time is being taken up by Dragon Age, then, dang. And that is not even counting Forgotten Odyssey, Fable 2, Bioshock, or Drake's Fortune 2 (which I will be buying this evening in fact, yay!) Sheesh. And when am I supposed to watch the Rockets, and sex up my wife?? Oh Jebus, please send me a clone!
and according to this blogpost, it will be on sale at sears come good friday. 20$ off baby! http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=8936
I am just about to finish Darkensang: Dark Eye, a very nice under-the-radar RPG. Perfect timing to start Dragon Age Origins tomm. For folks who ordered CE online and got Warden's keep for free: Be very careful. It contains a lot of spoilers. PS. I chose the PC version over PS3 or Xbox (I have all 3). IMO, PC is the best way to experience a RPG, especially an epic one like Dragon Age. Happy gaming! PS. If you order it by tonight from amazon, you can get the regular edition with bonus items for $46.99 and you get a coupon for $10 off on future game purchase. You can get release day delivery (which is tomm.) for $6 depending on where you live or free if you have Amazon prime.
LOL, not sure. Only about 6 hours in. But apparently you can do a romantic subplot with anyone in your party. Even same sex relationships.
If you download the demo/character creator and upload your character to the Bioware social networking beta site, you get a free item, too, I think. There's also a flash RPG you can play to gain more equipment in the game once you get your copy (shut up Chuck... ) : http://www.dragonagejourneys.com/ Pre-loading mine right now... 66% done. The sad thing is I probably won't get to play until late tomorrow. Ah well.
Guess I was really fortunate to get it early. I remember I got a copy of Mass Effect early too when a K-Mart in Tomball broke the street date. Also a Bioware game...ironic.
I'll get mine today, but probably will have less than an hour today, and maybe an hour tomorrow. Thus. I should have a couple of hours. It will be really hard to pry myself away from the game these next few weeks.
The average of most of the reviews I've read have them ranked about like this: 1) PC 2) 360 3) PS3 Most of them say that PS3 has better graphics than 360 version, but it has more "jumps" and glitches. I am about 11 hours into 360 version and have yet to have any problems with glitches or animation.
