I know we acquired 2 second rounders in Trob/Portland deal

and im pretty sure we have all of our first rounders still in our pocket.

Can someone please breakdown our current draft pick situation and if we may own any other picks that I am missing.

Dwight Howard is a Houston Rocket guys....he picked us. Has it sunk in?:p

Wow look at Brooklyn... Talk about mortgaging your future.

By the way, we're likely not getting a pick per se from Philly - merely "draft considerations." Philly needed to give up something to make it a trade, and in this case the "second round pick" we get will be something like top 55 protected. Basically nothing.

    nice...thanks

we are in a great position. I look at the Lakers, Nets, and Knicks and just LOL.

We are truly lucky to have Daryl Morey as a GM. He has put us in a FINE position for right now, while not hurting our future in the slightest. I love it.

Man, wasn't it nice to acquire Dwight Howard for NOTHING? Hell, James Harden for that matter as well.

    HOW SWEET IT IS

    Rockets in great position.

Kings....SMH. Bad teams should not owe a 1st round pick.

With the assets the Rockets have in players like Asik, Lin, Jones, D-Mo, Smith, Beverley, ALL of their 1st round draft picks to trade, and a load of 2nd rounders as well, the Rockets are in a VERY, VERY good position to upgrade the team once again with another all-star player to their nucleus of Howard, Harden, & Parsons.

Im going to be watching Portland very close this first half of next season to see what happens with LaMarcus Aldridge. I think that's why the Rockets weren't going overboard to acquire Smith after the Howard signing.... I think they can do better in a trade during the season when the next big name player wants to get out of a losing situation and join a contender.

Didn't they just trade a couple of firsts to Boston as well? Ouch.

The Hawks might be a good team to watch too. Horford could be up for grabs if they have a down year.

Wish we could trade picks + Asik for a first rounder, then win the lottery and draft Wiggins

I don't know because if they wanted (that is: IF. DM the GM. WANTED.) J-Smoove the 'asset' cost likely would have been cheaper than an LMA acquisition, or some other February-available All-Star caliber Rocket-to-be.

Nobody is trading a pick without top 3 protection at the very least.

    Picks to Rockets
    2014 2nd Knicks pick
    2015 2nd Knicks pick
2015 2nd rd pick from either Minnesota or Denver, whichever is better
2015 LAC pick if 51-55. No pick if not in this range.
2017 2nd rd pick from Portland
Draft considerations from Philadelphia. My guess is 2015 2nd rd pick if between 56-60. No pick if not.

    Picks from Rockets
    2014 2nd to Philadelphia

If we were to somehow acquire Aldridge, Love, Horford, or Monroe without losing Harden/Howard/Parsons we will be the best team in the league.

Life lesson there: acquire as many good assets as you can, trade them for long lasting proven value.

Conversely for Brooklyn: don't mortgage your future for short term titillation. They are going to own the Big Apple this year but they are going to be a sorry lot real soon.
