Well! This will be an interesting draft. So let me start with my picks for busts and players who will come out of nowhere and make a big noise.

    First Round.

    Busts

    Tyrus Thomas (PF)

    Surprises

    Sergio Rodriguez ( PG)
    Maurice Ager ( SG)
    Vinicus (SF)

    Second Round

    Surprises only

    James White
    Guillermo Diaz
    Hassan Adams

I've been talking up Hassan Adams forever here. He's practically a clone of Desmond Mason. If he was a couple inches taller and had 3-pt range he would be a lottery pick.

I think he can be a good center in the league (He's strong and long enough, despite his height). But I also wouldn't be interested in drafting him as our PF.

i think thomas will end up being the second coming of shawn marion. maybe not as good, but same game.

my bust is adam morrison. he will be the next wally szczerbiak. that's not a real bust, but he won't be an all-start calibur player.

i think a sleeper is sergio rodriguez. this kid supposedly has real game. the next jwill. he will be a steel late in the first round.

shelden williams needs to work on his crossover too. that might help with that whole first-step thingy.

This draft will go down as one of the worst in history. Aldridge, Morrison, Thomas will all be bust.

The Rockets should go for the sure thing NBA player in Sheldon Williams and be happy with a solid contributer they can keep for years.

I agree,in addition to being quite possibly the safest pick in the draft,Shelden possesses nice upside.Although he can stick that 10 - 15 foot j,his game is around the basket...back to the hoop, great interior defense, and a cleaner of boards... he's got a pretty nice touch too.Williams starred in the best conference in the country and elevated his game in the NCAA Tourney.
What's not to like?I believe he fits our Rockets better than many think.Williams can flat out play with the big boys and then some.
    ...10-12 yr.starter.

His only knocks are" he's only 6'8" and lacks athleticism".But the guy has great instincts on the basketball court and has proven very coachable, very motivated, and has a high level of court awareness.

From reading draftexpress.com, this Alexander Johnson character from Florida State could be a surprise.

Doesn't the term bust really depend on where they're selected? AM might be a bust at #5, but at #35, he's a solid surprise..

although they are roughly the same dimensions, Brand has a better first step/explosivness.

It's about effort AND talent. In college, Brand demonstrated he had big time game that would translate well if he worked hard. Sheldon Williams hasn't demonstrated nearly the same skillset Brand did while at Duke.

Funny considering Wally was an All Star. I don't see how someone could ever rationalize Morrison being a bust. Maybe if he turned into a p***y like Keith Van Horn, but he has too much fire and competitiveness for something like that to happen.

I agree with what chopped said...

Shelden will have many problems carrying his big head around the court!

    Busts:
Cedrick Simmons-never will develop offensively ala Cato.
    Andrea Bargani-think Nikoloz Tskitishvili
Rodney Carney-people will always wonder when that light bulb will turn on

    Steals:
    Maurice Ager
    Alexander Johnson
    Jordan Farmar
    Hilton Armstrong
    James White
    PJ Tucker
    Quincy Douby

    and the biggest steal:
Paul Davis if he's drafted in the second round
The guy has great fundamentals with excellent range and could easily be as good as Murphy.
