Does anyone here live in Downtown Houston???? iTz my ultimate dream to live right there on Mainstreet... I just want to know how you like it and what u think of it... IT WOULD be kick ass to just walk to an astros game/ rockets game -- catch the rail to the texans game --- then after the texans game celebrate at a club downstairs and tell the chix.. "Hey want to see my loft? it's right upstairs..." i can just imagine...

    holla back yo!

It's going to take a loft off Main or lots of money to get most of the pretentious skeezers that buzz around downtown Houston like a fly does to shiyat.

My deal with my wife includes me living at least some of my retired years (or the years after my kids go to college) at the currently unbuilt, Ballpark Place. She reluctantly accepted.

A good friend of mine lived at the Rice for a couple of years. It's nice, & very convenient (if you work downtown), but it was ridiculously overpriced. He spent more on a 800 sq ft loft than my roommate & I spend on a 2200 sq. ft. house in West U. Also, it'll be 3-5 years before all the construction in the Main St. area (rail, Cotswold, etc...) is finished, no way I'd move down there until then.

    JA HEAAAAAAARD ME??

yea i thought about 4,000 square feet house in burbz vs.
    800 square feet in DOWNTOWn....

You know you can get a 4000+ square foot home in SPRING at less than $250,000 ....

While on the other hand you can get a 2 bedroom loft 1,500 squarefeet at starting at $250k +

It has its PROS AND CONS....

certainly you can find a better anti drug than bud light!? i realize you're young, but you should start to broaden your horizons. but then again, if you're interested in paying exorbitant amounts of money for rent, maybe bud light will be all you can afford!?

    welcome to the BBS

If you want rent and have the cash check out The Lofts At The Ballpark. Small units start at around $900-$1000 but are sweet. Stained concrete floors, cool lighting and great appliances and overall look.

I bet some of the Astros keep their mistresses there for easy access.

A buddy of mine just bought a loft downtown. I can't remember the name of the building, but it's the one with the Flying Saucer in it. Anyway, the way he figures it, once all the construction is done, the property values will rise and he'll be able to sell for a nice profit.

Personally, I live in a loft just east of downtown here in Dallas, kinda between Deep Ellum and the Fair Park. I absolutely love it, even though I have a 50 mile round trip to work in Plano. Here are some pics of my building:
