When Rox said Brown was a front runner, it meant they were not going to hire Brown anyway.

When JVG said Cleveland had the best management he'd even seen, it meant their negotiation just broke.

When Dunleavy said he wanted to coach the rockets, it meant he's heading to another team.

Think about it. You compete with other guys applying for a job, while a few other companies are trying to get you. Would you say same thing in public as you said to your interviewers in their office? When you are close to deal, would you brag around or just keep your mouth shut?

Look at those deals made, LB to Pistons, Silas to coach LBJ, Carlisle fired. None of these were what people expected. And that's what the business people want to see. They want to keep their moves secret and lower their cost as much as possible.

Dunleavy is not coming to the Rockets. Rockets don't want JVG at all. Nelson? I thought about him, but the rumor came out way too EARLY, so he's not coming either.

Very plausible but if we don't get JVG, Dunleavy (who I believe would battle JVG or Nelson to the death for this job), or Nelson then who? Who damnit?!?

We better not be getting screwed though.

iOrange....you said in one of your posts that we were absolutely going to get Larry Brown.

I don't know......there is a lot of suspicion and theories..

    Doc freakin' Rivers.

If this stuff is true, he HAS to be the "actual" frontrunner.

When it's all said and done the Rockets will sign Jeff Van Gundy. The Rockets have egg on their face after letting Larry Brown go and they need to cover their tracks by getting another successful, big name coach. That would be Van Gundy, even though Dunleavy has been getting some praise and support from the national media.
