Translate this better. 10 years from now nobody will remember the #1 round tag label, what people will remember though is how far they do go and this is added pressure on McGrady if it does not happen again this season. He needs to be thinking how great it would be when it does happen and from when he said when he first came here extra motivation "believe me something great is going to happen" he needs to play up those remarks when he first came here and after the short comings we all know been patient we believe some of us and i have defended him from day 1 untill recently he needs to go out there and bury the past, put it behind him and look from this day on forward. He has made history here with the Rockets already add to the legacy and don't let pride get in his way i think he will be alright.

i wouldn't count on it boys.
he is still as much injured this week as he was last week.
he won't be able to do much of anything until he doesn't feel so much soreness.
its psychological, he is afraid of reinjuring it and he thinks that the soreness means something is wrong, when in fact it is just his body coping with the stress. down the stretch i think he will just tell himself to suck it up and play because he wants to win a championship and this may be his only year to do so

Are you holding your breath for this to happen, Rockets4279? If so, somebody needs to call 911.

Alright. But if he has a bad game where he doesn't give a half assed effort and you are wrong then what?

I think the saddest person out of all of us is Kobe. When you used to watch them play against one another you could hear the "anything you can do I can do better" song in the background. You can see it in kobes eyes when they meet now that he's heart broken. All you can hear is "anything you can do my daughter can do too". Kobe needs that high level of competition and Wade and Lebron aren't complete enough players yet to give him that.

If he does good the media should ask about the coincidence every day and night and put his ass on the spot for the rest of his career.

We will keep b****ing prove us wrong for the rest of the year TSlack.

I think he will find his grove soon. Take some pain shots will do the trick and then he will focus better. He already knows that his pride is out on the line and Deke has resigned and the schedule will lighten up.

I hope he has a great game....and then another great game....and then another...

And then maybe Morey will be able to get something for him in a trade...

I won't be fooled by any sudden elevation in McGrady's game.

It will be temporary at best, and if he starts playing simply because he's being called out, then frankly, that's an indicator that he is playing basketball for all the wrong reasons.

That is exactly how I feel, and I do think he might be playing for the wrong reasons...

Since you all know what's going on in people's heads - what are the causes for Mcgrady's plays and stuff - can you please tell me what's going on in Yao's head?
Because all he is doing right now is backing against the hoop and all of a sudden using only two weapons at most.

It's a disgrace you just steal RudyT's line and replace "the heart of a champion" with TMac.

I can't believe anyone would think it's a "great thread".

I don't want McGrady out there trying to prove himself to anyone. Not unless it's going to help with his injury.

All the drama will blow over once he's healthy again, so he just needs to do whatever is the best and quickest way to do that.

I wish he was playing in the Celtics game but I'll take a TMac like game against the Sixers. I hope he does come through.

I will agree with the OP that i think he is going to put a lot of effort in answering to the backlash he's been getting...what makes me cringe and lose more respect for tmac is that I think this is exactly why he picked to play in the sixers game so he has a better chance to blow up as opposed to getting shut down by the celts...more proof of MeMac. all speculation of course...
