So, wow... hurricane hit hard.... I had a great time for my birthday there... loads of drinks, never got sick, and never carded (of course ). I won't sell my New Orleans short though, there is certainly much more to do than drink, we had great food, talked to the city's wonderful people, admired the beautiful homes, the cathedrals and parks, rode around on the street car up and down Canal, admiried the view from the Mississippi at night, so many things, it's an unforgetable city. It all reminded me just how much I love that city, and I feel really fortunate to see and experience the place I grew up, my childhood home, one last time, because we all know it very well may never be the same again. I was relatively unaffected by the hurricane on my trip, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, traffic out back to houston wasn't too bad, people were actually just starting to evacute as we left. The only thing we missed out on was the aquarium, which had been boarded up that day and thus closed, which was a shame 'cause my girlfriend LOVE penguins... So here's my post to New Orleans... you and all the cities around you are certainly in my thoughts, and I can only pray that you'll all recover (and as soon as you do I'll be back to celebrate!). -Love ya.
