I liked langhi from the start and there were a lot of critics. i never said he was going to be a star. I thought he was better than most people were making him out to be. Now that he lights it up for one night there are all these posts about guys that all of a sudden think hes great. all im saying is hold on to your horses and wait about another season and a half before judging his whole nba career.(thats what im going to do) ------------------
You do not have to start new threads to gain recognition. You would gain more respect by contributing your insights to anyone of the existing threads already dealing with that particular subject matter. Just a thought. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight
No disrespect to any one here or there opinions, but can someone explain to me why it is that there are so many people on here who feel that they need to correct people or tell them how they "should have" done something, and like I said, I am not attacking anyone, but I just want to know why there are so many people doing this, I just think if you are gonna post something or reply to someones post, make it about that post, and not what you think they should have done, IE dont start new threads about old topics, because there are several threads on here concerning the same topic and they all get a considerable amount of replies. Secondly, I personally have liked Langhi from the start, the guy won SEC Player of the Year honors if I am not mistaken, and pretty much carried that Vandy team, he is a nice player and I am sure will make us all happy with the things he can do, and you have to know Rudy will work a guy like that into the lineup, but, I hear what you are trying to say, dont jump the gun on this guy, this isnt NBA quality talent he is playing against just yet, but with that type of game that he has, I am sure he will be an good NBA player, if not great. ------------------
I totally agree.....The guy has potential....but needs time......maybe this team is too young for him to learn from? Like Darius Miles...from who will he learn there?? he needs to be on a little more experienced team to become better, faster....although i agree he can play....
Remember Dan Langhi was a 4 year college player, so he does have more maturity and experience than a high schooler like Miles. I know this is a young team, but IMO Walt Williams could teach Langhi a lot here and could be a perfect mentor. Langhi and Walt play the same positions, both can shoot the ball well from the outside, both have good one on one skills, both can dribble the ball up the floor, etc. And Walt is an experienced veteran SF in the league. Personally I think Walt is an excellent mentor for Langhi to learn some more under. ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com
A little policing on the board is okay, but yah, sometimes it is taken "overboard". Personally I just try do it when threads are really redundant, full of errors, or pointless. Sometimes pointlessness is cool though, like this post. I just hope Langhi continues to improve. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
Good point Cat....I didn't know how long langhi was in college......... oh yeah, how's langhi on defense?
It's Internet tradition. Besides, we have 400 threads saying the same thing. Why? Why not just add it to an existing thread instead of cluttering the board? If you were here a month or two ago when the Mobley leaving thing "was" hot, I can't see how you could complain. It seemed like 75% of the threads being created were about why Mobley shouldn't leave or why we shouldn't care. I'm starting to sound like HeyPartner in my old age. If I start mumbling stuff about 2-shakes, iso, or flex, somebody restrain me... ------------------ Just shut up and post
DoD, You are starting to sound like me. --------------------------------------------- CAKoudelka, If they are not corrected in that thread, where should they be corrected? An email from the Admins warning that they will lose posting privleges for a week if they make the same transgression? Something else? I am awaiting your proposed solution to what you see as a problem for incorrect policing of the BBS when in it fact it does need to be policed for things like repeated threads such as this one. Mango ------------------ 1. Put new topics in the proper forum 2. Use clear wording for new threads 3. No duplicate threads 4. Conduct yourself as an adult The Serious Police are watching Donate Blood or be assimilated!
CAK, Sorry to be judging people. I tried to be polite about it. My point had less to do with the redundency of the post and more to do with new members starting new threads for every little opinion, that could easily be inserted to a current thread. My post was in reference to the fact that a new member with 9 posts has alredy started 3 threads. Starting new threads when you really have nothing new to add gets a little annoying. I know that we all say and do things that rub people the wrong way and that's up to the individual if they would like to change that behavior or just say f*ck it. In my oppionion creating new threads just to see your name at the top indicates dillusions of self grandeur. Just a thought. ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight
DoD, If you sound like Heypartner and Mango at the same time again I won't just restrain you, the best option for all of us will be to simply pull the white curtain across, get the shotgun out and put you out of your misery. SmeeeeG ------------------ Stuff BBS, the Rockets and you guys It's all Clippers these days, come join the bandwagon and visit http://www.ClippersCity.net
Well, first I will say thanks for the responses, I somewhat understand what you guys are saying, and yes I have been around for quite awhile, I just choose not to post that often, you guys normally say what I was going to say, before I can say it, so I just dont post, but, I feel like if there is something out there I wanna post a topic about, be it posted 10 other times, I should be able to do it and get honest feed back, not, you should not post this, thats all I am saying, and I dont know, yesterday I finally wanted to ask why people do that, because I was wondering why people were doing it during the "Mobley" thing. If they are not corrected in that thread, where should they be corrected? An email from the Admins warning that they will lose posting privleges for a week if they make the same transgression? This is my whole point, forgive me if I am wrong, but the main people doing the correcting are not the Admins and Moderators, it is normally just other "Posters". So my thing is, whose says that you guys need to do that? I dont know, I just feel that it would frustrate me if I posted something and all I got was, you shouldnt post this, thats all, but, like I said, no offense to anyone, just curious, but thanks again for responding and not bashing the piss outta me ------------------
Smeg, buddy... please do. A cross between Mango and HeyPee would be a demon-spawn the likes of which the world has yet to see. If you see traces of Hutz in the posts, as well, then please burn the body and have an exorcism as well. (Mango, you will not take my soul!!!) ------------------ Just shut up and post
You have a point CAK,when some posters do that to you, maybe you'll feel frustrated but also you have to understand. Some here wanna read every post so they can know every little detail about the rockets(including me),but after some time it gets annoying reading the same thing and wasting your time opening every thread.Everyone here has the right to post their opinions but it would be more efficient for all of us if the similar posts are all in one thread, that would make everyone happy so why dont we do it? Good explanation? ------------------ Arriba mi Nacional, vamos mi Colombia al mundial.
Not everybody has a really fast connection. Thus, it takes a lot of time to keep going back and forth opening new threads taht say the same thing. I mean you can do it if you want, but it definitely slows things down for many of us. But, if you were to do it, I would suggest having the title of the thread be specific. It seems like everyone knows theyre posting the same thing anyway, so they make their title sound like they might be talking about something new, enticing me to go there, only to see the same thing. For example, this threads titel is "lets's not go overboard" or something like that. So I cam ein wondering what was up, but then it just turned out to be another Langhi post. FOrtunately, it has turned into an interesting debate on posting eitquette ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather.
