by the standings. Some of the top teams right now have padded their records against garbage teams. The Kings are a perfect example with two wins each against the GSW and Chicago. Houston had probably the toughest schedule to start the season playing the Lakers twice, the Blazers once and the team that beats us ever time it seems in Minnesota. ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house!
So what? It's all golden hills from here on out? We're gonna play all of these teams again, incliding Minnesota. We don't exactly have to win them all, but I'd like to see us beat the TWolves at least once this season... C'mon, we can beat the: Lakers Blazers Suns Sonics Heat Pacers Spurs and every once in a while the F*& Jazz What I'd like to see is us beating is the: Mavs TWolves Sixers Knicks Majic Bucks Nuggets and the Jazz more consistently... For a seed we need to beat the Mavs, TWolves, and at this point - the Sonics. It's also time to stop losing to the not-mentioned teams (Clips, Bulls, GS, etc). Time to get priorities straight. ------------------
That might be a good thing Hydra the Rockets always play good against tougher teams its the teams we should beat that we lose to! We should have at least two more wins against the Clipps and Boston! Its weird we did the same thing in the championship years and the team has changed so much and we still play to the other teams ability. If they suck we suck if there a championship team we play like a championship team. We need to just play everyone like there the Lakers and we would get playoffs easy! ------------------ President of the why in the Hell isnt Langhi playing club!!!
I agree about the records not being an accurate indicator. The Kings have a better record and an established All Star, but Las Vegas has the Rockets giving the Kings 1.5 points!! ------------------ GATER
Treeman, My point was that on a limited number of games, people might be distressed when they see that we have a worse record that Rocket fans think we should. But we have played good teams MORE THAN bad teams and some of the top teams record-wise have not. Of course we have to play all of these teams again, but we have to play the Lakers two more times and we get to play the Warriors four more times. That is not the case for the Kings, among others. Our easier months are December and March. The Rockets will substantially improve their record over those two months IMO. We all have to play the same teams as the other teams in our conference, but some have played the teams at the bottom of the barrel to start, we have played the cream of the crop and come out above .500. My season record prediction: 46-36 ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house!
Hydra: The lesson at this point seems to be clear and unanimous: Beat the bad teams too! I listed likely playoff teams in the first batch. We've beaten them all, or at least proven that we can beat them. Repeatedly. The second batch is the teams we seem to have problems with - and ones that I personally think we're superior to... Especially the Jazz. We will eventually have to learn how to win against them. You're right: time will tell. Tho I'm not quite as solid about my earlier 47-35 prediction... ------------------
That's exactly what they are on pace for after 14 games (17% of the season). ------------------ "We end up with Francis/Mobley isolations very often. More often, I'd say, then other teams." -- jamcracker
It will not last. Can I revise my prediction to 43-39? No? OK, then. I'll just stick with what I have... (TB-Cain - I punched that in on the old calculator, and damned if .. it was 17%. One of those chance accidents - I assure you that nothing else I say will predict the future in any way...) I refuse to try the 43-39 chance. I'd appreciate it if no one would tell me the results, either. I DO like surprises... ------------------ [This message has been edited by treeman (edited November 28, 2000).]
It's possible, if they play good defense every game! ------------------ Rudy T. will find and fulfill Rockets destiny.
