It is very interesting to me how the Houston Rockets under Jeff Van Gumby attempts to build a team to compete with the best in the NBA. The teams that win year after year like San Antonio, Detroit, Miami, Dallas, Phoenix and others trade and draft player that are skilled, athletic and some who turn into excellent players after a little seasoning. Nooo, but not the Rockets! They continue to bring in old, one dimensional role-players and then tell the fans that this team is championship material while most of the league laughs all the way to the playoffs. How long do you have to continue doing the same thing that does not work before you realize that it is time to change course?

    Uh, Miami?

And the Spurs sign a lot of veterans, only Ginobli and Parker are recent draft picks, the rest of their rosters is veteran free agents and acquisitions, same with Dallas.

Only Dirk and Howard, the rest of the players are pick ups.

We are doing exactly what everyone else is doing, putting players on the floor that compliment our star players.

That's a very apt description, I'm sure that Ryan Bowen and Rafer Alston are much more adept at saying things like "Looking good T-mac!" and "Nice feed yao, you da man you my big man!" while on the court than adding to our team and making it more complete with their varied skills and talents, to the extent they have any.
