What do you guys think? Will this one be bigger than the first? I hope this one will knock Titanic off the top.

    geez!

where'd you get the picture? looks like a younger and more hip "ock". i was upset when they chose him over venom and carnage together, but he looks pretty cool there.

he needed a make over. the chili bowl haircut and the bifocal glasses weren't cutting it.

i doubt it'll beat the big boat.

    doc ock=doctor octopus

I got it from superherohype.com. They have a larger version. My hosting site shrunk it down quite a bit. You can also get the official wallpaper from the Spider-Man 2 website with the same pic. Really cool. Doctor Octopus(Doc Ock) is one of Spiderman's classic foes. Alfred Molina, from Frida and you probably won't remember him as the "throw me the idol I throw you the whip" guy from the first Indiana Jones, will play Otto Octavius.

Some fanboys were already up in arms complaining that they were going for an ultra cool Matrix look and assumed the coat was black, but it is obviously brown. Not to mention, what other kind of conventional clothing can be used to hide tenticles?

Posted this in the Spidey animated series thread already. ;)

I'm a huge Doc Ock fan, so I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment. :)

Unfortunately, he doesn't have quite the "look" that Venom or Carnage do so I doubt he'll draw enough to push Titanic off the top of the list. Though the first movie had quite a following so ya never know...

But man when they finally do decide to have Venom in one and teaser posters start popping up, look out!

I think they are setting up for Venom. Raimi said that MJ is engaged to Jameson's son, the astronaut, in this one. Good way to introduce him to the story.

Hmmm... I haven't really been following the progress on this one. So it sounds like they might be (yeah, very early still I know) phasing out the Eddie Brock character and giving the symbiote to John Jameson instead of having him become Man-Wolf? Could play out well with JJJ's vendetta and all.

Is that the one where Venom's crouching in a pool of his own saliva with the starry background? I've got a poster of it and the artist is some dude named Wittman. Quesada did a later cover that also kicked ass and had Carnage and Spidey on it. :)

This has always been my personal favorite Venom cover:

Would've loved to have seen what Todd could've done with Doc Ock. :(

I thought Spider-Man sucked. It even almost made Tobey Maguire look bad. Dunst, while hot, had no problem looking like she can't act owrth crap, as usual.

Wow, thank you. I'm serious. I have so often felt like the only person who thought the entire film was just horrible.

    Lame dialogue
    + Lame plot
+ Dafoe's excellent acting put behind a mask
+ action sequences about as exciting as watching someone else play a video game

    = Zero stars.

I know 99% of people disagree, but whatever.

My only beef with the first one was that Spidey didn't crack one-liners through the whole film- that's his gimmick!

To each their own I guess. I'm probably just seeing things through rose-colored fanboy glasses. ;)

yepperz, that's it. damn... i don't know what i did with that one. i have all of my comics put away in little bro's closet back there in houston. most of them valiant... solar man of the atom, xo manowar, magnus robot fighter, etc. all of them are pretty much worthless since valiant went under or acclaim bought them... something like that.

    speaking of carnage...

how on earth can spidey kill this guy?

During Maximum Carnage, he stopped Firestar from burning him to death.

Since then, Carnie was imprisoned in crystal by the Silver Surfer, then with no explanation of how he got out, his symbiote was eaten by Venom (yes, eaten  ) and he somehow got another one from another dimension.

Crazy times indeed... but fire was generally his main/only weakness. Don't know what his status is currently.
