Just wondering -- is anyone here into DMB tape trading? If you have to ask what it is, you don't do it ------------------ "I am who I am, who I am, well who am I?" -- Dave Matthews Band "Dancing Nancies"
I've wanted to, then I realized, I don't have a tape player! ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
most of it's done with CDRs now . . . I have the 2/19/94 D+T show and that's it . . . I'll do a B+P for anyone who wants it. ------------------ "I am who I am, who I am, well who am I?" -- Dave Matthews Band "Dancing Nancies"
Vengeance, Forgive me, but what does B+P mean? What songs did they do at that show? ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
Whoops, I take that back, it was Dave and Tim 2/22/94 B&P is Blank and Postage . . . this is the simplest way to get a show . . . basically, you send an envelope with the appropriate blank CDs and a self-addressed, stamped, bubblewrap-filled envelope to the person offering the B+P. So, for instance, if you wanted the show I have, you'd send me 2 74 Minute CDRs and a bubble-envelope (with appropriate postage) and I'd make the show, then send it back to you. The idea is that this gets you into trading. Once you have one show, you can find someone who wants that show and you make them a copy of it, they make you a copy of the one you want and you send them to eachother. The 2/22/94 show is really cool. The setlist is here and the quality is A. The only problem is that the final song (AATW) has a break in it because the tape must've ended in the middle of the song. The sound quality is as good as "Live at Luther College" because it was recorded off the sound board (one of the final shows where this was allowed). The only "rare" song here is "Humans from Earth" which is T-Bone Burnett and Tim Reynolds. The other CD I have that I could do a B+P of is one that I made of unreleased songs that I fixed up and put on CD . . . it's really, really good . . . practically like a CD you'd buy in a store, just not quite as good of quality. ------------------ "I am who I am, who I am, well who am I?" -- Dave Matthews Band "Dancing Nancies"
Is this some kind of ancient tape-to-CD burning method that you old folk are talking about? ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!

I apologize for not being more forward in the topic . . . I figured anyone who's interested would know what it's about already Dave Matthews Band bootlegs are very popular, as taping is allowed at all shows. You can find live MP3s all over the internet, but they're not quite as good of quality as the CDs. The live stuff is kindof a crapshoot. Some of it is REALLY well recorded (like the show I have) and some of it is really, really terrible. It used to be that you could record off of the soundboard, but that was nixed in 94 because people were selling the shows as imports and stuff. Check out Typical Situations.com for some MP3s and stuff. ------------------ "I am who I am, who I am, well who am I?" -- Dave Matthews Band "Dancing Nancies"
