WTF! MOochie, Tmo, now Kenny?! Thank God we are deep but any more injuries could really start to hurt. Keep in mind MO can't play for the first 5 games, so our only pf is gonna be Griff.
Apparently this is true. See the beginning of this article : http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/1625841 I was joking in another thread about a contest to see what weird injury would befall Kenny next. First being attacked by a door, then attacked by a dog, then in a wreck, now this... The broken thumb was apparently obtained trying to block a Grant Hill dunk.
I guess this means EG and Rice will start on opening day. Mooch will be back around then, TMo a few weeks later. I guess we'll find out how long Kenny will be down tomorrow.
I wonder if we'll see Cato playing some PF.... on second thought, that sounds like an automatic double team for Ming
Oh, well. No big deal. You scared me. I thought it was serious; knee, ankle, or heaven forbid, back. This is a experimental season; fun! It's all about the Yao! KT will be back soon enough. It was TMo ankle injury that I was mad about. He was doing really well. The good thing is that KT can still practice by running and keeping in shape.
A future ROCKET BOXSCORE!!! Now that's a balanced attack! Hey, it could happen! Francis - 21pts, 10ast Mobley - 28pts, 2stl Griffin -- 15pts, 12rbs, 3bks Ming --- 14pts, 18rbs, 5bks, 5ast Nachbar - 10pts, 7rbs Hey David, for your signature you have a hypothetical boxscore. You might not be too off on those predictions. This style of offense is like a spread offense in football. Everyone has a chance to shoot with this ball moving. Everything has been balanced so far. If your right, and i think you'll be close enough, Rockets will be a dynasty. Sorry Lakers, your time is running out.
Since Mo has to serve a 5 game suspension, could we activate him 5 games before he is scheduled to return, and in doing so, he just regards those 5 games as part of his rehab time?
He's going to surprise a lot of people. If Yao doesn't score more than 10ppg in his rookie season, it will be worse than Shawn Bradley and Rik Smits rookie season. The deceptive thing is that Yao might score *only* 14ppg, because of necessity (playing within the team system) rather than lack of ability. That's a big difference from Bradley and Smits, both of whom struggled in their rookie seasons. Another thing, Yao must rebound more than 10rpg!!! HE MUST! Take a look at Bradley's and Smits rebouding stats each year in the league. Pathetic!!! http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rik_smits/index.html http://www.nba.com/playerfile/shawn_bradley/index.html
Yea, that's what I meant. Activate him 5 games before he is due back, so he can serve his suspension without missing any games while he is healthy. I think the team should be alright with 1 less option for those 5 games.
I've been watching some tape of Yao and the one thing that I like his that he keeps the ball ABOVE HIS HEAD (behind sometimes) when he rebounds. That's a Moses Malone stlye of rebouding. This is a good sign. By the way, we're hickjacking this KT tread....ooops..
Call me slow and stupid but "activate him" and "due back" from what? Are you confusing MoT with TMo because TMo is the one who is hurt and will start on IL. Mo is already considered active and healthy. Or has he gotten hurt again recently? Or are you saying....If Mo WERE to get hurt and qualify for IL,they should keep him active for 5 of those "hurt" games just to get rid of the suspension? That would definitely make sense.
Oops, you call me slow and stupid instead. I confused Mo with KT.. (blesphamy!!) But yea, if Mo (touch wood) ever got injured, that would be a sensible thing to do.
