I would like to change my shower head in my apartment. The current one I have doesn't really have a lot of flow, and I know it's not a water pressure problem because the faucet in the tub has really good pressure.

Any suggestions for a good shower head in terms of high flow? I don't want to spend a boatload of money so ~30 dollars would be nice.

Also, how do you install it? I think you need some sort of sealing tape. Any other considerations?

Thanks for any advice any of you may have.

You need an adjustable wrench and some thread tape. Will take you about 20 secs to change it out.

Thread tape on the threads...no big deal.

I like the showerhead that is up high and is like rain coming down, that may be out of your price range. I'm not sure how to tell if a showerheard will have a good, hard spray. You don't really know until it's installed I guess.

You can pretty much custom motify any showerhead to your desire. My heads have standard port holes on the main pipe. All you need is a good drill and about a 1/8" drill bit to notch out that hole and make it bigger.

I did this to my heads in my house. We had poor water pressure. After the modifications, my shower heads could take paint off a car. :D

So you're saying that I should just drill the existing holes in my showerhead bigger? I'll see if I can borrow a drill I don't have one.

In case that doesn't work. What are the steps?

    1. Take existing head off with wrench
    2. Wrap connecting area with thread tape
    3. Screw on new head with wrench?

I might be wrong, but I don't think he means the holes in the showerhead, but the hole that the water goes through into the showerhead (I'm not sure that made sense.)

You can always pour some muriatic acid in the shower head to clean out the hard water buildup.
