Trump thrives at giving his followers an approved target for their formless, directionless, and confusing rage and disappointment. Im not impressed bu much relating to Trump, but this is a very effective trick, and he seems to know how to keep repeating the trick when he needs to. He makes people feel righteous in their anger, when for decades they've been shamed every time they let it out. The specifics of what the current target is accused of doing don't matter as much as the fact that they are the currently approved focus for the rage. The Pence setup last weekend is a pretty strong indication exactly how calculated it all is. As long as Trump keeps tossing the chum in the water, he can do what ever he wants and the sharks will remain focused on their meal. As long as they have someone to hate, Trump could urinate on the flag and it wouldn't be a big deal. A lot of politicians would over think it, or try to get cute, but Trump is going to just keep running the halfback dive until someone shows they can stop it.

Sort of like when you lose a civil war and see the people you once enslaved screw your hottest women and dominate your culture. Butt hurt is seeing the rest of the world out compete you because you think people who study are losers but then watch as they take the best jobs here and abroad but since you can't live up to the fact you are losing you have to cry about the evils of minorities and cry about reverse racism. Understandable, the reason I brought up the butter bar was because I was talking about a specific douchebag that I caught doing it several times but for sure there are plenty of others who do it and should be called out for it. There's simply no excuse for a military person to EVER rush inside to avoid saluting the flag briefly unless there is an absolute emergency....just throwing off your schedule by a minute or so is NOT an emergency. Now when it comes to staying inside, I'm torn on that. I feel like if you are indoors when it happens, you should stay inside till it's over, but remain still and silent if you are at a doorway leading out. I'm not going to be a hard ass about it and say you have to be at attention or even parade rest, just still and silent so that you are showing appropriate respect.
Considering the whole NFL anthem thing was just a way of distracting the media from the Russia story and other failures, meh. But people fall too easily into the "Wag the Dog" trap. The fact that Trump was elected (with -2.8 million votes) is proof enough.
The ones I’m talking about will check their watch an hold their friends back until it’s over. Then they will poke their head out to see if it’s still playing. If it is then they go back inside. These same fools will get on social media and talk about “ As a veteran....” blah blah blah Kaepernick blah blah blah.
