If you have a target red card, you get 5% off of things. You can buy tons of Disney Gift cards and get 5% off. So that would make things bought there 5% cheaper. You could buy enough to actually pay for a hotel or park tickets. When applied to the whole family, it can add a up to a decent savings. It will also make purchases at the parks cheaper. Costco also may have card deals, but some of them require that you be a resident of the state. There are different ways to save money depending on your interests.

DisneyFoodBlog is probably my favorite site for information.

Disney World for a vacation of more than 2 days is the better option. Disneyland is the better park for just one day.

Travel Agents that specialize in Disney can definitely help you. Also there are ways to purchase rooms from people in the Vacation club which may discount certain rooms.

Can you do that without getting nailed with a 90 minute timeshare presentation?

Ha. Good point. I believe that you can. You wouldn't be buying into the Vacation club, just using the website to buy other members unused points, or something like that as far as I know. I have never tried it, just heard about it, so my understanding is somewhat limited.

This is quickly getting off topic ... but I booked an Orlando resort for a week and it turned out that the "resort" was a timeshare and we got hard sold on a timeshare presentation with a free gift (free vacation at an older timeshare in their off-season). Never again.

There are literally travel agents trained on arranging Disney trips. They'll help you plan it to the minute so that you can skip lines and get on every ride you want to get on.

Yes. I went to a time-share pitch, once... Once.
