http://www.dimemag.com/feature.asp?id=2311 These guys seem to draft for teams based on need, although i'd rather take Williams or Carney before Foye.
that scenario is what i fear most of all. every player (except marcus williams) that I wouldn't mind seeing in Houston is off the board when we pick.
The Marcus Williams from Arizona is going back to school. The Marcus Williams from UConn has already hired an agent and is committed to the draft.
Yep, that's what I meant. Except not exactly, I see what hashmander said... he didn't want the other Marcus on this team.
Agreed, it will be even worst if Carney is off the board when we pick. If this is the scenario, I would like to see the Rox make a deal w/ the Hawks. They need a PG (Marcus W. would be a good fit) but I don't think they need to use the #4 to get him. Swift + #8 + Future 1st for #4 (pickup up Roy or Aldridge).
Tiago Splitter didn't make his lottery. last I heard he was still in. anyone think he could fit in at PF for the rockets? haven't seen him play. most sights have him listed as PF/C. they usually rave about his quickness and emphasize his defensive abilities. can he guard NBA 4's? can he hit a mid range jumper?
Randy Foye would be the worst we could come up with, imo, because he replicates Luther Head to an extreme. I'm so tired of this team not having any legitimate shooting guards. Even if it means taking the less polished Rodney Carney, they should do it. Personally, I'd only want another small guard if he's a legit point like Marcus Williams, or he's an athletic freak who can make up for his lack of size.
I don't know if Splitter can guard NBA 4's but he can hit a midrange shot and appears to be a fairly good rebounder.

Stromile and Luther and our second round picks....would that get us up to Atlanta's #4? The Hawks need a power forward (Harrington will leave) and Luther Head can play alongside Joe Johnson. They don't need another rook. Same thing as Chicago.
The basic outlook on Thomas is that he is basically Stro with passion/heart. You'd probably get the same talentwise--but talent is only half the story. I'm hoping we can land Shelden Williams as it seems our chances to grab Roy,Gay or Carney aren't that great.
I was suggesting a Swift + #8 + Future 1st for #4, but only if Roy or Aldridge is available. The Hawks should be looking at a PG, Marcus Williams is the best PG in the draft but taking him #4 is a little too high IMO.
I think Randy Foye will be a great addition to the rockets. He will definitely play PG for us, but he won't have to play like traditional PGs. Tmac can play Point-forward and Foye can have the Mike James role without the attitude problems. Just think of him as a younger/taller/stronger Mikes James.
Carney would be the pick. Fills the long SG need- even if his outside shot needs help. Even consider a trade down (2-3 spots) and go for Roby, Agar, or the SG from Arkansas. We must get a longer 2 guard who can defend and score. And is at least a legitimate 6'-4" (if long armed like Agar) or taller.
IF Roy & Gay are gone, and Carney is still available. I think you take Carney. #8 is too high for Reddick, and Shelden Williams may likely fall after the workouts Carney I feel should be athletic enough to stay with SG's even if they are a bit quicker than us. I would just hope that JVG, McGrady and Yao and get him to give full intensity and show that improved maturity that he sometimes exhibits. (This whole draft is practically a ****shoot....well most every draft is actually.)
