Does anybody know of any good/great deals going on for digital cameras anywhere on the Internet? It doesn't have to be top of the line either just a digital camera with at least 3MP but preferably by a big name manufacturer such as Kodak, Canon, etc. Anybody know of any good deals out there?
What features are you looking for and how much do you want to spend? I'd personally recommend Image Stabilization and 10x or more optical zoom. I'm selling a Olympus camera now on ebay and it has neither feature hense that is the reason I'm selling it.
Features aren't important, it isn't like it is for somebody who is going to use it professionally. I got a 3.2 MP camera for $125 a few years ago and it develops 5x7 photos great so that's why I was saying at least a 3MP camera because that is all this person will use it for, just developing some 4x6 and 5x7 pics every now and then.
Believe me, I'm far from a professional, but IMO those 2 feature are important. I hated going to an event (once in a lifetime in some cases and most are indoors (shutter stays open longer allow more chance of giggle) at some distance say 50') and the pictures look ok on the 1.8" screen only to see that they are blurry when you get home and print them out. And the ones that aren't blurry may be yes I can see a person but I can't tell who that is. Digital zooming only make the pictures more grainy. The image stablization has turned my novice photo experience into one that is more joyful. And the zoom is really good for when you can't get the front row seat you can still get a good shot. I would agree that if you aren't printing posters (and who is), that 3 megapixels is plenty. And if you are shooting outdoor stills or indoors at close range (5-10'), you should be good with just about any name brand camera. But if you are shooting pictures indoors from 30+' or action shots (where you need to adjust the camera settings), you may want to think about additional features so you don't come home disappointed like I have too many times. It all depends on what you need and how much you want to spend.
I like this one too... http://reviews.cnet.com/Digital_cameras/2001-6501_7-0.html?tag=cnetfd.dir but don't always buy from the cheapest guy or you may not have a good shopping experience.
