The director is Sam Mendes - of 'American Beauty', 'Road to Perdition', and 'Jarhead'. This movie will probably be similar to 'American Beauty'. Can't wait... big fan of DiCaprio's acting.
there is nothing sexier than European hotties in War movies...I.E rachel weisz/ enemy at the gates,Paz vega/al otro lado and now kate winslet.
So, what of note has Kate Winslet done besides Titanic? I have seen her in one movie since Titanic and it was so drastically a different role than I pictured her playing. In short it was very odd seeing her in that movie. (Which escapes me at the moment)
umm, how about: The Life of David Gale [great movie] Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind [great movie] Finding Neverland [great movie]
Well, she has 5 Oscar nominations. They're for the following films: Sense & Sensibility(1995) Titanic(1997) Iris(2001) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind(2004) Little Children(2006) She's also been in Heavenly Creatures which is a badass movie by Peter Jackson. Finding Neverland which was nominated for Best Picture. Quills which got a bunch of Oscar nods. As well as Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet.
Kate Winslet has had a very solid career since Titanic. She's just been very choosy and gone with more indie type movies than mainstream vehicles (such as Finding Neverland, and Eternal Sunshine). And her guest appearance on the show "Extras" was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
There are plenty of great movies that are low profile and have not received much attention. I have not even heard of The Life of David Gale. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind I just have not watched, although, the name makes it sound interesting. Finding Neverland, is just not interesting to me regardless of how many awards it has won. That's just me though.
