Soooooo... since his main issue is his inability to clear the mental hurdle of coming back, he should definitely choose to do it against the hottest team in the league and a guy that completely shut him down the last he played a meaningful game, which happened to be in his MVP season. It's a great thing he doesn't have people like you around giving him advice. Insanely dumb idea.

Would people feel the same way if TMac did the same thing?

Whoa buddy relax, why so offended? I never said he had to come back tomorrow, just thought it would be cool if he did. They are playing on national tv in what could be the most anticipated game of the year if he decides to return, which I understand is highly unlikely. Everyone knows their history and it's not like he is going to go into a depression if lebron beats him again. I'd much prefer him return against a good team than a team like the bobcats or wizards.

You're right, I could've worded that better and didn't mean it to sound like an attack on you. It's clear the guy is not mentally ready to come back, and it would be a lot easier to return against a team like the Bobcats than a good team. Wouldn't it make a ton more sense to get a W and have a decent game against a bad team in your first game back? What reasoning do you have that it would be more beneficial to him to come back against a good team? Or is that just your personal preference because you want to watch it on TV?

i worry about Derrick Rose emotionally, it must have literrally killed him knowing he couldnt help his team last playoffs, and this year. And that the team( bench players) were all traded/gutted because of his injury.

He has also suffered from depression in the past

Hope he comes back soon, so I can justify paying the ridiculous prices at the united center.

Chicago wanted Jordan to get healthy when he suffered his first serious injury. Why should they want it any differently with Rose? It's a long-term investment.

I think Rose is not playing this year...just my gut feeling and it is probably the best for him and his team. Coming back this late in the season will be a distraction rather than helping the team.

That would be the second best player not getting on the court for the remainder of the season. First, obviously being Terrance Jones.

Won't play in game one, "most likely" out for entire postseason

NEW YORK -- Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Saturday that Derrick Rose would not play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Brooklyn Nets and was "most likely out" for the rest of the postseason.

Rose, who tore the ACL in his left knee April 28 in the first game of last season's playoffs, has not played at all this season.

While Thibodeau and Rose kept open the option of Rose's return, it's become apparent that time is running out.

"He's most likely out but you never know," Thibodeau said. "The playoffs are stretched out, too, so you have to factor that in. So who knows another week from now where he is? You always want to leave that possibility open."

Thibodeau said the organization's stance on Rose playing will not change as they head into the postseason.

"It's going to be the same," Thibodeau said. "We're not going to change that. It's gone this far so we'll see, we'll see if he can improve."

Thibodeau said he wouldn't hesitate to put Rose back into the lineup if the former MVP thought he was ready to play.

"That'd be fine," Thibodeau said. "Whenever he can come back, he comes back."

People who want him to rush back are stupid. It was the same thing with jeremy last year. Jeremy wasnt even fully recovered by the end of 2012, how could u expect rose to make an immediate impact in the playoffs?

"Rush back". He's been out for an entire year, and he's been physically cleared to return for over a month.

Some guys are just wired differently, mentally, so I can't really fault him.
