The Rockets are 44-31, and the nuggets are 42-31
    Our remaining opponents
Lakers, Suns, Sonics, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Clippers, Sonics

    Their remaining opponents:
Hornets, T-Wolves, Sonics, Warriors, Hornets, Grizzlies, Rockets, Suns, Blazers

Do you think we can hold onto the 6th seed?

I want to be optimistic, but I am having my doubts we can hold off Denver. They are peaking at the right time and we are fading. We dont have much room for error now.

whoever wins the head-to-head matchup... that will be huge, and will give us that team the tie-breaker as well.

The 7th seed, it's like dejavu or something.

HA! I doubt it. Rockets should blow out the Lakers tomorrow night that should get them back on track to a 50 win season. Sixth seed and a 50/50 chance at advancing against Seattle is a virtual lock in my mind.

i prediction is they bead us by a game. unless we can win that head to head against them. that will be the biggest game of the season.

i sure as hell don't want to play the spurs and i know we can beat the sonics.

50 wins is almost out of question. we need to win 6 out of 7. look at the remaining games. i don't care about 50W anymore i just want the 6th spot.

No, I think Denver will overtake us. If Duncan isn't ready to go for Round 1, maybe it won't be so bad.

I agree with you, the Roxs sole purpose should be to secure that 6th spot.

Talk about Deja vu, last year me and my wife went down to Houston for a late season game against the Nuggets that had huge play off implications. This year we are going down to Houston for a late season game....well you get the point.

I wonder if Clutch will get on the Balcony again?

Yeah like we were supposed to blow out the Hornets, Jazz and Warriors. :(

We can't take any team for granted now.

The Lakers are a team that wish the season was over already, even if the Rockets play a decent game it should still be a big win against that lost team.

At Phoenix and at Seattle will be tough but I think they can win both of those games if they put forth the effort on both sides of the court. Effort and hard work makes them a team to be reckoned with, not this pathetic bunch who can't put a complete game together.

Then they have four straight home games to close out the season, I know they don't protect the home court like a good team should but I only see them losing against the Clippers.

50 wins, 6th seed, and a probable date in the second round against the Spurs wouldn't surprise me.

The Rockets are not the team we have seen lately, they are the team that give 100% every game and wins because of it. Not this team that is either disinterested in defense, disinterested in offense or at their worst, disinterested in both.

I think they forgot that they won because they played hard and sacrificed for the good of the team, not because they were too good to lose no matter the effort or individualism. There was 3 alarms going off in a row that said they needed to play hard to win, I think they pushed the snooze button on two of them, hopefully they've woken up on the third one.

The team looks like it's playing hard. Look at the way they were going after the rebounds yesterday night. The problem is the team is just worn out. The exact same thing happened last season. The Rockets ran out of gas and were barely able to even stay in the playoffs.

Denver is young team and their players keep staying on IL. NOw they all back and fresh. But They are not elite team. if ROX can beat them, we pretty much secure 6th

Ok, guys, when we lost to Hornets, I was the one calling for the situation right now. And now, I am calling that we will win 4 of next 6 or maybe 5. The tough games that is left is Suns at Phoenix and Griz/Nugs games. Yes, we can beat Seattle twice if we put our act together with 80% effort. Why, because Seattle is a lock for the 3rd, and hard to be the 2nd. They are a jump shooting team, make them much easier to defend and if they dont try hard, we can beat them. I expect wins from both LA teams. Kobe is day to day right now, and lakers is playing for the next season unlike the warriors. The Griz/Nugs game at home, we can pull one close win. Nugs is sizzling hot, but we match them well. They are hot but not unstoppable like the Suns. 48 to 49 wins, This is how I look at it for the season.

This is exactly what I've been worrying about particularly since this team is much older than last year's.

We might've peaked at the wrong time.

I dont buy this peaked at wrong time theme of the day. How about we dont peak long enough like the nugs.

Not exactly. In the fourth quarter of the Spurs game they killed us with jumpshooting and from what I've heard about last night's game the Warriors did the same thing to us by kicking out to open shooters.

The problem with defending a jump shooting team is defensive rotation to keep up with ball movement to open shooters. If we can't rotate fast enough the other team will get open looks and a team like Seattle can knock those down all night. It takes just as much speed to defend a good passing jump shooting team as it does an athletic team that likes to drive. The difference is that inside presence matters less and you have to rely on guards to rotate fast enough on the outside.

Our lives are on the line. We better beat Seattle, which is not playing hard right now. We have to win 4 to secure the playoff berth. 6,7,8 will be seperated by a game. Again that Hornets loss is a biatch. I wonder where all those people who liked about that loss.

It really doesn't matter at this point. Just make the playoffs and its a whole new season. All the excuses about being banged up, tired legs, out of game shape.......won't mean a hill of beans at that point. Its win or go home in the playoffs so you had better lay it all on the line. 6th, 7th, 8th....its all good so long as we make the playoffs IMO. :)

We are better than last year, aren't we?
    Rockets will be just alright!
