Apparently the trade rumors of Mcdyess and Houston are all just smoke and mirrors.

    McDyess trade rumors denied
    Added: 28th May, 2002

Trade rumors circulating recently that Nuggets forward Antonio McDyess was being discussed in a trade which would send himself and the fifth overall pick to the Houston Rockets for the first pick, Eddie Griffin and Mo Taylor have been denied by Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe, the Denver Post is reporting. The report was shown on a TV station after McDyess missed the team’s recent trip to military bases in Europe.

"We're hoping Antonio is part of the Nuggets for a very long time," Vandeweghe said.

McDyess' agent, Andy Miller, said: "If there were to be any discussions about McDyess, they would have had me included to some degree. What the (Nuggets) are saying isn't too far from the truth."

    This was debunked earlier...

This is exactly what happened: ESPN posted that deal as purely speculation. It was posted as "here's a deal that could be good for both teams". Some out there started spreading it like it was a real deal being discussed. Peter Vecsey (who no doubt is embarrassed by it right now because he has blasted ESPN for inaccuracy before) got a hold of it and reported it on the air on NBC at halftime.

The next day (this morning), he posted that it was completely false, making no mention of his earlier report.

I am more convinced than ever that 95% of sports writers know less (and certainly no more) than all of us... they read, misinterpret and consider some strange outlets to be "sources".

Clutch, I have to add this, after happening to re-watch the tape of that halftime show...

Vecsey debunked it right away, said it was another lame Insyder "suggestion," and that there was no truth to it (especially since the entire Nugget organization, and Kiki and Fredman) just emerged from jet-lag last weekend.

As has been said before, Antonio can be had, but why would anyone (least of all you guys) want to have him?
