I know this is opinion but judging by other reactions you couldn't be more wrong. From her brother talking about her waking him up in the morning to memorizing television show episodes. That was very genuine. anyone with siblings knows those are the things that make your relationships with your family watching your father go to work everyday, following your big brother in his footsteps. barack's feeling as a first time father. you couldn't be more wrong.

Well, at least now we see that when Barack Obama is elected, Michelle will replace Hillary Clinton as the GOP's "Most Hated Female." It's not the fact that both of them are women; it's that the old men in the GOP are scared of a strong woman, capable of asserting herself. They prefer the docile first lady who's only concern is literacy (a valid concern, but not very controversial; the Illiteracy Platform has been lagging for centuries). I only wish that the few women considering voting for John McCain as a swipe at the Democratic Party could consistently read tripe like this from the Republican choir boys. They do not have their interests at hand and only playing them.
Just what the dems ordered? Some are saying Hurricane Gustav is heading towards New Orleans on the eve of the republican convention. That damn Al Gore can control the weather.
They should just all go for the free booze! I could handle that! I thought it was a very moving speech and very well-done. The emphasis put on hard work no matter what your difficulties really sends a great message, IMO.
Since the happy hour is occuring at the same time Hillary is speaking, why would any Hillary supporters show up? That is, if they can get into the convention.
If the RNC is paying, the whole Dem convention should show up and order millions of dollars in drinks.
Quoted for notable humor. This really cracks me up. I like to picture Al in a Fantasia-like top-of-mountain, lightning-cracking scenario. "Get thee... to... New Orleans!" By the way, guess this is for another thread, but isn't New Orleans a weird choice for the GOP? Are they going to show the Spike Lee movie about Katrina? Or maybe it just goes to underline the distance between McC and GWB. That would be bold, but smart.

ABC, CBS and NBC brought in 12.1 million viewers in the 10 p.m. hour, down one million from 2004, according to preliminary, fast-national data from Nielsen Media Research. NBC scored the largest audience. It will be later in the day, when final broadcast and cable ratings come in, before it’s clear whether viewers opted to seek out the cable news networks offering blanket coverage, or whether it’s a sign of lower interest in the first night of the Democrats’ doings. Only ABC News’s convention special gained over its entertainment lead-in, picking up 1.6 million viewers following “Samantha Who?” to average 3.78 million viewers for the hour anchored by Charles Gibson, George Stephanopoulos and Diane Sawyer. I thought Michelle Obama did an excellent job. Very genuine and, like everyone else, I loved the kids. People should remember that she isn't a politician and this is kind of a huge deal, you know? I'd like to see any of the rest of us do as well. Maybe B-Bob, I guess, or Jeff could have the crowd going berserk, but isn't it a bit much to expect the wife of a politician to automatically have the ability to uncork a great speech in that setting? Within that context, she was terrific. Ted was great. They kept calling him a "Lion of the Democratic Party." Ted had his last roar and it was a good one. Flaws and all, he is a Democrat down to his bones. I'll miss him, even if I didn't always agree with him. My complaint? All the "empty space" they should have been using to let the country hear some of the great Democrats in the Party let the GOP have it, or spell out what we're going to do for the country, in an exciting fashion, or both. Hopefully, the rest of the convention will be more "red meat" for people like me. Impeach Bush.
