One opened up at 8910 Westheimer Rd Houston, TX 77063. Is this a taco bell type place or do they have better ingredients like Taco Bueno?
I at at one once in Baker, CA (next to the world's largest thermometer). I thought it was much better than Taco Bell.
Del Taco is pretty much the worst fast food chain in the world as a collective, but there is always a chance you could eat at a decent one. Is it open yet? I drove by it a few days ago and it wasn't open yet.
The only things I get there are the strawburry churros and the chili fries. Tacos/burritos there are 'meh'.
Taco Time is my all time favorite fast food mexican place. I love their regular tacos. I will never forget stopping at one while driving through the US which had an all you can eat taco special. I managed to scarf down 9 tacos and it was Nirvana.
Better than Taco Bell, but far inferior to Taco Bueno. They have fries in many of their burritos which is cool.
it's average. I used to eat at one in Orange County (Costa Mesa) every now and then. not as good as Taco Cabana. Maybe better than Taco Bell, but that's a pretty low bar to clear.
I'm guessing you didn't eat out much when you were in the texahoma area. The staple blandathons known as Taco Casa and Chicken Express make Del Taco look like fine dining.
there was one in alief when i was growing up. i'd say in between taco bell and taco cabana is about right.
There's not many in San Jose but whenever I go back to Orange County, I make sure to grab a few chicken soft tacos and Veggie burritos... Everything else is average at best.
Worst fast food chain I ever went to was a place in Nebraska called Runza. Basically a baked pocket of spiced ground beef, cheese, and onions. Folks there love it, but I thought it was one of the most bland meals I've ever eaten. Way overhyped.
i have a friend from nebraska who loves those things. she made me some homemade ones and they weren't bad. your post is the only other time i've heard of those things.
Dude you watch your mouth, Runza's are AMAZING. My wife is from Nebraska and our first stop every time is to pick up a Runza. As for Del Taco, it is awful. I've had it twice now when I was in Cali, both times extremely intoxicated, and it was still barely edible. I love Taco Bell (drunk) and I though Del taco was gross.
I ate there a couple of years ago when I was in Lincoln for the UT-Nebraska game. For all the hype, I was disappointed. It didn't seem to have any taste whatsoever.
