need another trigger warning? Ideas aren't bad because they're capitalistic or socialistic in nature, they're bad if outcomes are bad. You should probably stop saying the word socialism and look up social democracy (this advice, to be fair, applies to about 99% of all American debates on this topic).
Umm, yeah, the Gold Coast/Ghana was a British colony. Do you know the difference between a trading post and a colony?
I'm sure your awareness could come handy if you looked at the whole picture . How Danish colonies were different than traditional French ,British etc. Why profit was the main motivation and how it was applied and such are recommended searches/reading to you when you have time
Your signature make sense on this topic .regardless if they called it Danish Gold Coast or colonies or business hubs etc; it's not much of a difference ,British could care more of what they actually purchased from them, or American in the case of Danish west island Belgium had a colony that was't even called a colony, the farm of the King of Belgium was the name they use in describing how they divided a country into four quarters "Congo", they chopped people hands, ears, legs to mark people physically according to this "farm's needs and geography " , they even claimed spreading Christianity was the main good causes to justify what they did , colonialism is not even the right term to describe invading foreigners land and stealing natural resources. Denmark again were very efficient ,they didn't kill more than what they had to do, or enslaved more than what they needed to sell, or even claim larger land than they would need , they were the master of making all sort of partnership if needed, they didn't loose a single investment for nothing, they often sold it.
Of course an entity is an entity whether it is the Koch family or whomever. There could be hundreds of thousands or millions of such entities. I doubt you will find any meaningfully large number of advocates of socialism wanting to have one central state own everything.
If you take the time to read through this thread, you'll find that "Socialism" isn't some black-and-white thing where you can simply say a country is socialist or not, like someone is pregnant or not. Practically every country on earth, including America, tries to balance social programs, protections, and entitlements with free markets in their own way. Saying socialism is a failed system is like saying running the football is a failed system. Since it's unclear what you think a socialist country is, feel free to elucidate, but do you believe that the most left-leaning countries of northern Europe and Scandinavia are in "serious financial trouble"? Here's a hint: Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, etc are not in serious financial trouble. Many are doing well. These excuses are tired. When socialism (whatever you think that is) doesn't work, it doesn't work, but if it does work, it won't work in the USA, because stuff and things. Could you clarify how Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, countries with some of the highest tax rates and largest welfare states and entitlements in the world, are closer to failure economically than the countries that aren't doing so? (Hint: they aren't.) Uh, what? We've been veering right since the Reagan era, including deregulation in the Clinton era. We've seen nothing but declining federal tax rates for like thirty (fifty? sixty?) years, with the exception of allowing some (but not all) of the Bush tax cuts to expire. Which steps towards socialism are you talking about? The New Deal?
Dude. The ENTIRE DEVELOPED WORLD is getting better health results from WAY less spending than the USA, and it has been this way for many years. There is zero debate on this.
Basically this video sums it up https://www.facebook.com/ginalee.kister/videos/1083220158389732/?pnref=story
Socialism is when a powerful religious warlord enters your country illegally and builds an army of terrorists through mind control. The socialist leader then takes over the country from the inside and makes everyone wear a tacky uniform. Then the socialist leader takes all the money from the people that actually work hard and gives that money to the poors who do nothing. The country falls into a death spiral of terrorism and war turning a once thriving nation into a giant plague infested desert.
