As depressed as I am...This team is still developing and glimpses of success are finally showing.

This game(specifically 4th qtr and OT) displayed a trait that I have been looking for all through this season so far: Defensive Intensity

Defensively led by Hayes, Lee, and Battier this team was 2 free throws away from a regulation victory and some sloppy plays away from an overtime victory.

I personally hope that this game sets the tone for the rest of the season. We need Brooks and Martin to look at the tape of game and figure their weaknesses out.

I see the defense improving over the course of the season and Yao's improvement will allow for the Rockets to be an unfavorable matchup for any other West Conf. team.

Note: Igoudala would be perfect for this team, esp if we could keep C. Lee in the process.

The defense was solid in the 4th, but I honestly don't see how Kevin and Aaron can change who they are.

Yeah that great 2nd half defense where we gave up exactly 1 point less than we did in the first half....

    LOL.

Ishmael Smith had like 2-3 deflections in the waning minutes, and one of those was a steal.

Usually only Battier and Hayes make the clutch defensive stops at the end of games, but tonight it was Lee and Smith.

Brooks and Martin both have some very short arms and I don't see them becoming defensive stoppers anytime soon.

Yes I am going to have to agree with you...Spurs scored

    34pts in 1st quarter
    23pts in 2nd
    34pts in 3rd
    22pts in 4th.

Our defense still sucked. 114 pts in 4 quarters.

No doubt, but a loss is a loss is a loss....

This is the unfortunate situation we're in right now.

Lee, Battier, Hayes... these three guys are solid on the defensive end. Unfortunately, they usually don't supply much on the offensive end.

Martin, Brooks, Scola, Budinger... these four guys are solid on the offensive end. Unfortunately, they usually don't supply much on the defensive end.

Adelman has to pick one side or the other with each player.

For me personally, I think at the end of games Adelman should go with Lowry, Lee, Martin, Scola, and Hill or Yao. That way you kind of force Martin to pick up his offensive game in crunch time.

Sadly, it was also Lee and Hayes who lost the game.
