Do you sell used guns? I'm thinking of buying a Japanese-made Browning A-5 (12 ga.). I'd give you the business if I could.

Often times, you'll never know whether or not they are armed until one of them whips around and shoots you.

    then it's self-defense.

that's different from watching it happening from afar and then involving yourself and your gun after the 911 dispatcher asked you not to over your repeated statements that you were just "gonna kill 'em."

I don't have anything like that. I do transfers for $10, however, so if you see something on Gunbroker that you like I could help you out with the transfer.

I'm not a supporter of it. It is very calculated and premeditated. But it doesn't compare to the immediacy and unpredictability of someone breaking into a house. That is different than the treatment of someone already in custody.

But if the person is guilty, then he also very responsible for his own death.

And the shooter in this case will ultimately have to face the consequences of his actions, just like the burglars did. It isn't one sided. The karma doesn't stops.

The burglars would probably still be alive if they didn't try to steal. It is what it is.

    1. This seems pretty premediated and calculated to me. They weren't breaking into his home. They were breaking into a neighbor's home. He had the presence of mind to call 911 and tell them what they were doing and what he was going to do about it.

    2. I'm not defending burglary in any way. It just seems I've heard you say that two wrongs don't make a right quite a bit in threads about the death penalty. And I've agreed with you. That's part of why I'm surprised about your feelings on this.

Is that defense successful for shooting people in the back?

Because there's a chance something could happen doesn't mean it should happen.

The first time I got drunk as a teenager there was a chance I could have taken a misstep off of a curb and been run over by a car and killed. That could it have happened, but it doesn't mean it should have happened.

though maybe most folks wish it would have :)

Not only do I think that this homeowner should not be charged with a crime, but, I think his neighbors should throw him a parade for being a hero. It seems most likely that the thieves would have killed the homeowner when he surprised them, thus he acted in self defense.

I'm looking for a new benelli SBE II w/comfortech and Max4 HD

    model: 10101

    12 guage, 28"

I hear it's a great shotgun for burglers.

Okay........kidding about the burgler part.........serious about the scattergun.

Sorry, board email hasn't worked for me for some strange reason for a while.

Unfortunately, at the moment I can't get anything from Benelli. The way they work, to become a dealer you have to carry a certain amount of their stock and sign a contract to that effect which also includes requirements for only selling face-to-face. I am a small fry and mostly over the internet, and can't manage that at the moment.

    Again, sorry.

No prob.....and thanks for the response. I pretty much already knew I'd have to pay out the ass for one...........but man does it come up sweet.

I'd have to keep the plug in or burglers wouldn't have a chance.

I think a simple call to the police would have been fine. As a neighbor and as someone who has neighbors, I expect them to call the police. Killing someone else is just wrong.

The cops would be completely justified in shooting the burglars in the same exact situation, right? And there's no other way to prevent the theft? And there's no guarantee they won't come back next week and try to do the same thing at his house?
