That's great. If it has nothing to do with the two losses, then why do all these threads pop up after each of the losses calling for JVG's head? I don't even understand why these threads pop up when we blow out good teams. You want to complain about how crappy JVG is and how he is holding our team back? Fine, do it. Keep it to one thread and tell your JVG hater friends to stop cluttering GARM.
Offensive skills? i didn't know coaches needed offensive skills. The guys who need offensive skills are the players - hence coaches with great offensive players have great offense.
There's always a lot of monday morning quarterbacking on any sports board, but that doesn't make it any less reprehensible. As for the repeated criticisms... I like to look at results. We have arguably the very best defense in the league (which is VERY HIGHLY dependent on good coaching). When even remotely healthy, our offense can roll up points on anyone. We effectively switched from low post play w/ Yao to an very different approach w/o him. With a lot of games w/ one star or the other and usually other rotation players out also, we've built one of the best point differentials in the league. As for the nit picking... like 'play McGrady less'... that's way easier said then done, isn't it. We effectively haven't had Yao, Snyder or Wells in the rotation for a while. What's that, almost half of our top 7 or so? Can you imagine the outcry if JVG benched TMac and we lost a lead? And how is JVG supposed to predict how much TMac's newly-treated back can handle? The expectations are ridiculous. What it comes down to is how this team performs and it's done a great job. And people have b*tched about JVG's player preferences but he's help build a great team, with growing chemistry and comraderie. I wouldn't have used Batman's deragatories, but maybe he is just being more forthright than I.
probably because when we lose, our weaknesses in the team AND the coach are exposed. i don't like seeing all those threads pop up calling for jvg's head either, and i think the reaction to some of our losses is freakin absurd. but being 'positive' and all the while ignoring problems really makes you, as the much heralded batman jones would say, a ****ing idiot. the GARM is a place to voice your opinion, yes, but it's supposed to be CONSTRUCTIVE at the same time. if all we did was talk about how happy we are about the team's effort.....well then this just wouldnt be clutchfans.net now would it. anyway, when was the last time someone called you a ****ing idiot and actually convinced you that they were right? batman, you've won me over, jvg is a ****ing genius.
This team has weaknesses; there is no doubt about that. I don't mind constructive criticism, but have you read the crap on this board sometimes? It is like people are never happy. Last year we got man handled without our stars and we complain. Well it is frustrating to see our team lose when we have such great players that are injured. We are plagued with the injury bug again this year, but we actually hang around games! Dallas or Phoenix did not blow us out. I was pretty frustrated that we lost when we had the lead, but when I take a step back I realize that this team has fight that they didn't have last year. Criticism can be kept to one thread and with logic. If JVG plays TMAC too much, people complain. TMAC is on the bench and we lose the lead, people complain. We are 10 games above .500 people complain, 10 games under .500 people complain. I remember a few years ago the complaining was tolerable, but these days it is getting out of hand. Complaining for the sake of complaining is flat out annoying.
I am happy we are 10 games over .500 with all the injuries we have had, however, I think that JVG is going to wear his players out trying to get a new contract. And, I think Les is probably a bit tired of JVG because he certainly hasn't offered a new contract or any words of encouragement. And, I am sure that Les does not like telling his employees (JVG) to be a bit more upbeat...only to have that employee mock that with the press all year. Not smart...JVG...not Smart. DD PS...If you don't like the threads by people, just don't read em.....don't WHINE about the criticisms.....that only makes you a...well...whiner !
They clutter the freaking board pushing all the decent threads aside. I don't make it a point to tell people every single day that I hate the complaining on this board. I finally mention it when Batman brought this up. We have given this board plenty of slack for yall taking up bandwidth.
I think the problem is when there are immediately four new threads on the page the day after a loss to the best team in the league. Its like a contest to see how many different ways there are to start a thread about the same thing. Imagine if the following four threads popped up the next day every time Tracy has a bad shooting night: "T-Mac - Bad Back, Bad Jump Shot, Bad Attitude" "T-Mac: He's to Blame" "Is T-Mac's apathy hurting the Rox future?" "Who would you rather have playing SG?" Doesn't that seem just a bit redundant and over the top? I second the vote that there should only be one JVG hate thread at any one time.
Yes, but why click on them...let em die......people venting is part of what makes a BBS work. And, no one I know...HATES JVG.....I just think he is an above average coach, but not good enough to win it all. DD
Why don't you just stop watching the Rockets if all you are going to is complain about the way JVG coaches? It is a choice....YOU and YOU ALONE make. You'd stop complaining and then we can finally get some substance to this board. Everyone wins.

We upgraded talent from last year, no doubt about that. Bogans gone, Battier in. Wesley gone, Bonzi in. Please be honest, just be honest, without Yao and Tmac, are we better than Memephis or Bobcats?
