Yes, it's true. I'll be taking a short trip to the City of Brotherly Love (never been there before), and was just wondering if anyone else has ever visited. What do you think of the city? What are the must-sees? And where the hell can I find the best Cheese-steaks? :)

I have a couple things already planned over the 3-day trip. I'll be seeing the Rockets get trampled by the 76ers on Friday night, and then going to the Phillies game the next day. Unfortunately, they're new baseball stadium doesn't open 'til next year.

Oh well. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

Go to Smokes, a bar near UPenn. Nice college ladies over there.

Jim's on South Street has the best steaks in town.

Tip: Nobody in Philly calls them "cheesesteaks.";)

Have a good time. Be sure to post and tell us how it was. Philly is probably going to be one of the next cities I visit, because I've always wanted to go there. A few weeks ago I went to Detroit (had never been before) and had a BLAST!! The one piece of advice I'll give you is to be friendly with the locals. They can be a great help in finding cool places around town, and you'll likely even make some friends there.

My first thought on your thread title was that you were in a porno flick.

    Hopefully

    a. You'll see the Rockets win in Philly
    b. You'll actually get to make that porno while you are there. :D

Are you going because Jack thought his new cheesesteak was a little too authentic?:)

Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross house (flag maker), the Mint, Consitution Hall, Four Seasons fountain restauraunt, Rittenhouse has excellent expensive rooms, I thought the art museuem was ok, they have some kind of science museum I didn't care for, Benjamin Franklin monument, Rodin's the Thinker (one of many in the world, but still cool), and of course you have rocky's footsteps and run to make. My 1 week old nephew troy lives in Levittown. Philadephia is safe to walk around, but there are like two visitor sections that are a long walk away you. You have the museums on one section. And then you have the government stuff in another. Edgar Allen's Poes house is way out, and its a short tour, but I did think that was pretty creepy. It has the basement where he wrote the book about cementing that guy into the wall. And when you go down there, you are like, I know why he was so creepy and where he got that story from.

I live about 30 minutes from the city, betcha find that hard to believe after reading my handle.;) Depends on what you like to do. If you're into clubbing they're primarily along Delaware Ave. South Street has a lot of interesting bars and restaraunts. If you like Blues music I recommend Warmdaddy's on Front Street, good southern cuisine as well.

Just make sure you walk around a bit, that's when you get a real feel for the city. The weather is supposed to warm up and be beautiful for this weekend. It was snowing here on Monday and was 27 degrees yesterday!

Philly also has the U.S.'s oldest art museum and Zoo. Delilah's on Spring Garden is the premier gentleman's club. If you go you're apt to catch Cuttino or Steve in there, a friend of mine said they dropped in last year when they played the Sixers.

Reply back let me know what else you're looking for and I can give you some more info.

Got back from Philly late last night. I had a great time! More importantly, the Rockets Won!!!! It was really interesting seeing the opposing team fans go back and forth with the Yao fans. There were some verbal...errrr...discussions going on. Some Sixer fans didn't like how Yao was getting more cheers than Sixer players. However, I liked it just fine. :D

Basically, I just walked around the city for three days (my legs are killin' me). Saw the Liberty Hell, Independence Hall, Christ Church, and several other historical sites. Saw Edgar Allen Poe's House, ran up the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, walked up and down Soth Street. Ate at Gino's, Pat's, Jim's, and Lorenzo's, so I had my share of "steaks." Saturday, I saw the Phillies destroy the Pirates.

All and all, it was a good trip, and I recommend visiting the city if anyone hasn't already been. Still like New York and DC a little but more, but then again I'm kind of biased. :)

A little antecdote. I happened to be walking by the Ritz Carlton near city Hall on Thursday when I noticed someone familiar walking out with someone else. Then I realized it was Lisa Malosky and Bill Worrell! Don't know if they were going out for a night on the town or what (frankly, I don't even wanna think about it.) :(
