It wasn't just him...anyone that needed to step up to give us a chance to win didn't, plain and simple. When they have that many guys just nailing shots and being in double figures and we have guys struggling with their shots we are not going to win the game. If we didn't shoot so bad in the 1st quarter we would have been in this game if not won it. The difference was they hit every wide open shot they needed to. They answered every shot we took with an made basket. Everyone was on fire and we can't do anything about that. Cook, Butler, Odom, Mihm...you name it they were hitting shots. If we can't have any help from our bench and starters other than Yao and T-mac we are not going to win and that's pretty simple to figure out. Can't blame just Wesley in this instance.
Great post. Boki is shooting the same 35% he shot here in New Orleans. He's now hit 5 of his last 19 attempts from beyond the arc. JJ put up his 3rd and 5th best 3P%'s in Houston, and the most ppg since playing for the Hawks in 2000. Francis' perimeter shooting is actually WORSE this season- 28.8% from behind the arc. Wesley has posted a gaudy AST/TO ratio of 5.5 in his 5 games here. Yep. Great arguments.
wesley is good. sura is the liability. i love his energy and great rebounding ability but he can't shoot to save his life. sura needs to get traded this summer so tmac and wesley can play the backcourt while barry and AB back them up. sura and mo would make a nice package for a 3. we can also draft a 3, there are some nice ones that are supposed to go mid to late 1st round.
Exactly. The problem wasn't offense - they score 67 points in the 2nd half. It was defense. The first team to score 100 against the Lakers this year and lose. Brian Cook with two wide open 3 pointers in a row. Yao getting beat down the court repeatedly in the first half, etc. Dug themselves too deep of a whole, which was unfortunate, given that it marks the second game in a row when they lost but played more than decently in a couple of aspects of the game: 25 assists to 6 turnovers. 3 players over 20 points, shot 46% overall, outrebounded the Lakers (twice as many offensive boards), outstole them 5-0, got to the line enough and shot well there... ...Played HORRIBLE defense. Especially on Butler, Atkins and Odom. On a side note, it still doesn't feel like Yao is getting equitable reffing on him. How many times does he have to get bumped without a foul call only to stand with his arms straight up and have someone jump into him and have a foul called on him????
