Saw this kid Darius Rice on NBA TV. They had him on because he dropped 52 points in the D-League championship game. He is 6'10" tall 215 lbs, that's all I know about him other than he sunk a lot of threes in that game. Seems like he would be a fit, athletic big that has range on his shot.

Interesting interview, like a lot of guys in the D-League, really wants to play in the NBA and even went to China to play for 7 months. Anybody seen the kid play and do you think the Rox ought to invite him in for a look. The kid said he is ready to go tomorrow to any team that wants a look.

Yea we should go after Donyell Marshall because he holds the NBA record for three pointers made in ONE game

Actually Darius Rice is one of those players that has been on the cusp of making an NBA squad. He's talented but from what I gather is very streaky.

He's played a couple of NBA games and I think was part of someone's summer camp 2005. Mavs maybe?

Went to U of Miami, and was very highly recruited out of high school (McD's All-American, iirc) -- great athlete with pretty looking jumpshot, just never really put it all together. Think something like Dermarr Johnson.

On a side note, he's Jerry Rice's nephew.

I say take a look at him. In school he looked like a Tim Thomas with effort.

    He's 215. He can't play PF. He's a SF.

To be fair they said he was a SF/PF. If he isn't even a full-time PF in the D-Leauge, he's not going to be a PF in the NBA

There used to be a poster here named "get darius rice" or something like that (he may have had no spaces in his name). We can ask that dude what he thinks about darius, but I have a feeling he was banned because of trollish behavior.

    EDIT - found his profile...

IIRC...Darius is Glenn's nephew. But I wanted this guy in the 2nd round a couple years back, he seems like he has what it takes to at least make a NBA roster.

Indeed! The Rockets should be looking for tall athletic shooters to replace all the little people they hired last season [esp Lucas and V Span] :p
