Do you pay taxes or get a tax incentive? The whole notion of a tax incentive is ludicrous. Why should someone who hasn't paid taxes get a refund check? The fact that you are insulted is your own fault, if you read the post you would see this. Dude put a sock in it already you liittle liberal statis. I don't really care what color you are; white black, green, purple with yellow polka dots, if your trash your trash. And if you are getting kick backs from the government (democratic party) to buy your votes then I have a serious problem with that. And no those people would not be coming to a rally protesting that subject.
What about the kickpacks the wealthy and corporations have gotten from Republicans? Those are OK with you? If I start from the position that nobody at all should get kickbacks from the govt. but someone will regardless, I would rather it be the individual person in need rather than the rich and corporations.
Who, exactly, in this country doesn't pay taxes? You'd have to be homeless to avoid paying (directly or indirectly) property taxes and never buy anything to avoid paying sales taxes. You'd have to be fully unemployed to avoid payroll taxes.
so you don't think you insulted minorities. unbelievable, look i didn't report your post, but when you say, "the minorities who work hard", meaning that most minorities don't, its an insult. I'm not going to dignify you by answering your question. have a nice day
"The greatest single cause of Atheism in the world today is Christians. Who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door and get on by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds.....unbelievable." --Prologue to DCTalk's "What if I Stumble." I wish I knew who said it, I don't recognize the voice. As a Christian myself, its a shame that so many "Christians" are going about The Great Commission the wrong way. Sometimes I just have to shake my head.
That used to be the case... now its more so lack of evidence to support evangelical theories and mounting evidence to support scientific ones.
Well, the right shouldn't be doing that either. The "right" people that do the shoving are self-righteous. Real Christians, IMO, politely suggest, to consider Christ as the real Truth. You can't force someone to be a Christian. It doesn't work that way. People will have plenty of opportunities to accept Christ without it being forced on them. People who don't accept Jesus, God in the flesh, well, they will have to deal with the consequences. All I know is, that Jesus is the most popular figure in the world, and even though it's thought that earth is 4.6 billion years old, we are in the year 2009 for some reason, and the years before that were called BC, which means BEFORE CHRIST. It's the most widely used calender system in the world. If that isn't proof that Jesus is for real, I don't know what is. I mean, in the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, where countries are 99% Muslim is the year number different? or are they also following the same calender that started when Christ arrived in the flesh? If the Earth is 4.6 billion years old, why aren't we in the year 4,600,000,000? Why isn't the Magic-Lakers series called the 4,600,000,000 NBA Finals? Now, this is my mere attempt to suggest to anyone that Christ is the ultimate TRUTH, but if you don't accept, I still love ya anyway, because I am no better than you.
So, assuming a. arguendo that you are right b. you hold the Young Earth creationism view, c. you're not pulling a Colbert why isn't the Magic-Lakers series called the 6000-10000 NBA finals? I feel your answer to this will explain why the series is not called the 4.6billion NBA Finals.
I've seen like 3 episodes of Colbert in my life, so I am not pulling a colbert. And I guess I fall into the Young Earth creationism view.
This might or might not relate to the thread topic....I think the rhetoric and the challenges can go both ways religion and science. What science and agnoticism comes up short in a lot of the time is suggesting any life discipline code of ethics alternatives to religion. Usually its just stating "You are WRONG, I dont believe" and it ends there. Or its the laws of the land are good enough to get by on. Isnt it almost as "dangerous" to just tell people stop believing, without filling in the void that having no religion creates? As an agnostic myself, the constant imagery left in people's minds of science ruled societies is stuff like The Matrix and Terminator. Even in Stars Wars, The Force is the old religion higher power that crushes technology lol. Not saying its true, thats just perceptions. What science and agnostics need to do more of is present a non-religious world thats harmonious and peaceful. Cuz people see through the bitterness of once-believer turned non-believer who's been "lied" to. (And again, thats a perception cuz a lot of non-believers are more content afterward)
