Now that the Bucks have won first pick in the draft. It seems like they will choose Andrew Bogut with the first pick and that leaves them with a surplus of big men and this may make Gadzuric or Pachulia expendable. With Deke's contract up, can we improve the team by not signing Deke and going after Gadzuric or Pachulia. They would provide a younger backup at center than Deke and I am intrigued with the possibility of playing DG in particular at the 4, I think he has the athletic ability to play the 4 and would be the rebounding and shotblocking complement to Juwans offensive game.

Should we pursue either and would the team be better.

I like Gadzuric as a back-up center if we can't sign Deke, but there's no way he's a 4 in the West, East, NBDL, etc.

Deke is still better that both of those guys. The euro intrigues me only because of his jumper.

I would still go with Deke if possible, he was the best backup C in the NBA period.

Gadzuric and Pachulia are those hustle guys that always all around the court. They have great energy for big guys and are pretty athletic. Gadzuric would be a good backup for Yao.

What jumper? The one under the rim?
Have you ever seen the guy? He played in Orlando so I know all about him.
The guy doesn't even have anything resembling a jumper. He is a banger, a scrappy scrub

which of the two euro's do you mean?
Gadzuric does not have a good jumper. he is a banger. I would love to have him on the rockets(because thenthere would be more rockets games broadcasted in the netherlands). But i do want him cheap.

The pachulia guy, i consider gadzuric more of an american cause of his playing days at UCLA. neither guy really intrests me, but i would like a 4 that can at least hit a J. Your getting paid millions, for .... sakes.

Both of these guys are centers, not PFs. Maybe they could play some at PF. Maybe maybe no. Do we want to spend some of our MLE to get a backup center/pf when we can resign Deke and use the MLE on a true PF? I prefer the latter. They are worth a look though.

    pfchang (JUST KIDDING),

I would play Dan Gadruric at the 4 a lot. Not against Dirk, but against Duncan and the like.

Please explain why you say he can't play 4, unless you mean 4-3, 4-2 or 4-1. I mean, Gadzuric can play 4 and 5 no problem. He did it in Milwakee.

According to 82games.com, Gadzuric played 0% of the Bucks' minutes at PF last season.

82 games was my source as well. Zaza did play some time at PF - approx 9% of his playing time but didn't fair so well. His net PER was -9.9 at PF.

We can play Deke on Duncan as well. Deke won't eat into our MLE.

Gadzuric did play 3% of his time in the 2003-04 season at PF. But he sucked. His net PER was -15.2.

Zaza Pachulia is really good, anybody remember he hit 3 pointer after 3 pointers and almost won the game for them. This kid can run and have all the right tools to become a good defender which is a plus for a JVG player.

    dharocks,

I bet that same website says that T-Mac wasn't our PG either, but he sure handles the ball a lot. Don't buy too much into position labels. Gadzuric guarded Duncan, a power forward, in both games they played.

So did Yao and Deke at times last year. :)

Fact is, whenever Gad was on the floor the Bucks always had either Joe Smith or Keith Van Horn on the floor playing PF (or Pachulia, but only for 62 total minutes last year).

You must be thinking of Zarko Cabarkapa from golden state. Zaza is from the bucks and doesn't shoot 3s. Zarko was the one running Yao through screens and burying 3s from all over.

You're right m_cable. I'm confused with these funny european names.

I wish we have guys like that Zarko Cabarkapa.

I don't know why anybody would want Zaza Pachulia except for mop up duty. If anyone thinks that he is a major contributor, you are delusional. How could he possibly help the Rockets to get to the next level?
We have a really decent PF by the name of Juwan Howard (former all-star, 17PPG career, has a very good midrange jumpshot, can rebound a little bit, great passer). Anybody that we may bring in, will be a PF who is better and fits better.

IF YOU SUGGEST A POWER FORWARD FOR THE ROX, PLEASE COME UP WITH SOMEBODY WHO IS AN UPGRADE OVER JUWAN
