Ok...so I call my cell phone store... FT-"Hi, I lost my phone...what's the price to replace.?" Dumb arse cell phone store-"Cheapest phone is $120.00 FT-"How about if I renew for another year...can I get the discounted price?" DACPS-"No, you have to wait until the current contract expires" FT-"I've been a customer for over three years, and you've renewed early in the past. Why the change?" DACPS-"I don't know." FT-"You would risk losing my business for this? I pay $50.00 a month for my plan. I still have about 9 months on it. If I cancel now and pay your ridiculous $200 early quit fee, you still end up losing $250.00 in monthly payments." DACPS-"Yes but you are still out of a phone and service" FT-"Wrong, I have plenty a few cell phones that are worth more than your cheap phones and can be reprogrammed to their service. They are worth more than $200.00 That plus their Christmas promotions should end up saving me more money than staying with your company. I'll be sure to point this out to your manager when I come and cancel my program today." I hope they don't call my bluff on the christmas promotions....
Maybe your ex-wife stole your cell phone in an evil plot to use it as a barganing tactic to gain full custody of your son, but she hasn't figured out how to operate it yet... When in doubt, always blame the ex-wife...
Good one A-Train. FT I think Sprint is running a Christmas promotion and several companies usually do so they should not be able to call your bluff. My guess is when you go talk to the manager and threaten to walk. He;ll probably cave so he doesn't lose the $250 and your $50 a month business for another year or so after re-upping. I am probably looking at getting an updated model when my contract comes due in Jan.
