In some years being at .500 is almost good enough to get u into the playoffs. As some of you might or might not know, I'm a cowboys fan since 92. We are looking pretty good and we can pretty much hang or beat with any if Romo decides to play up to his potential. I don't think we can beat the upper echelon of AFC teams ( NE ) or team. I think we can beat the colts or chargers, and stand a pretty good chance against the steelers.
Washington always plays them tough and they have 2 games against them, Green Bay is playing really good this year and are also 8-1, the Lions may have something to prove or may be disproved during their second half run at 6-3. The combined record of their second half opponents is better than their first half. But hey, if you want to say they have a completely soft schedule then that is fine too.
This isn't one of those years. I give Dallas a lot of respect but I don't like the caliber of teams they have defeated so far. I think they can hang with anybody in the NFL as well, except the Patriots. All I am saying is this second half of the season should be much more challenging and solidify their "greatness" if they get through it successfully.
Sagarin Ratings show them to have the 9th strongest schedule. Sagarin Ratings You keep saying you give Dallas a lot of respect and you respect their 8-1 record but you continue on about who have they beat. Why continue on about it if you respect it? Also they hung with the Patriots for 3 quarters. They gave it up in the 4th. If we had Henry playing that game, a fully healthy Newman, and Tank Johnson at NT. I think the defense would have played better.
i've never met a human from dallas. But I think they are the fourth best team in the nfl, the best in the NFC. i wonder if they are going to hype the cowboys vs packers game as much as indy vs patriots
Right now there are 9 teams in the NFL with a 6-3 record or better and 15 teams with a 5-4, 4-4, and 4-5 record. Way the first half ended up it very well could be one of those years.
well new england is better than green bay. giants are better than washington. the lions are better than the next best team the cowboys have played, but not tons better. the nfc sucks this year, but dallas is clearly the best team there. it's still probably only good enough for top 5 in the league, but that's damn good. i'd take the patriots and colts over the cowboys definitely, probably the steelers, and then there are a couple of other teams i'd think about but that's it.
I respect it in the fact that they are 8-1. Yeah they are 8-1, on top of the NFC, and on top of their division. I respect that but not talent they have faced thus far.
I am saying I think they can hang with anybody but they have not played anybody except the Patriots thus far.
That's more important than the quality of their opponents, imo. The record is nice, no doubt, but that's just mainly useful for the bye week + homefield in the playoffs.
Top tier - New England 2nd tier - Indianapolis 3rd tier - Pittsburgh, Dallas, Green Bay 4th tier - the rest Sorry but Cowboys have no shot at the Superbowl but congrats for the NFC title aka bronze medal.
I think Dallas would beat Pittsburgh and only give a slight edge to the Colts (we beat them last year, pressuring Manning is the key and we can do that) The Patriots are the greatest team ever.
Posters on this board and the media have been saying the Giants are a fluke. I believe they have played worse opponents than the Cowboys, not sure though.
